I agree with you both if we dont improve in the pack next year were going to get nocked about but why not give these young lads a go like ben davies, farrel,o'carrol and prescott was our best prop last year and hes only 20 years old of something i might be wrong there but hes only young theres years can only get better for wigan. What forwards would you like to see at wigan then.?

I agree about Wire but how will the bulls be stronger?

lost
Burgess (huge loss world class)
newton (better than the new guy)
morrison (top player imo)
solomona (very good when fit)
jefferies (average but no replacment)

in
hall (journey man)
lestrange (average)
sculthorpe (very average)
reardon (average)
karney (never fit)

please add any i missed

I think that with a different training ethos and a stricter fitness regime , we could get a top 2 spot .
If you ignore that disastrous start to our season this year against average teams , we`ld have had a top 2 spot.
We also need more tactics with ball in hand , in how to break teams down , we couldn`t under Noble .
Our defence on the whole improved throughout the season ,
but improving it even further could close the gap between us and Leeds and Stains .
I think Stains will fail next season leaving us and Wire to press Leeds .

4th if things go well and the coach and team gel.

As low as 8th if the season starts badly again and we have a bad injury run.

The optimist in me says 4th.

Hate to split hairs, but we were also one of those average teams and 3 of the others ended the season above us!

Fail might be a bit strong at this point but I do agree, they cannot afford to rest on their laurels and I don't think Harry Potter is the right man for the job.

That said, I don't care if we finish 10th if Stains finish 11th and we get the treble over em!!! :) :)

If we don't believe that the new regime will take us into the top three, then we may as well have stayed with Nobby! I love what I'm reading and can't wait for next season. West stand; cold February night; wrapped up in warm clothes; hot pie and tea; lots of shouting; Sam running riot...............roll on.

I saw a lot of Saints last season and without a shadow of doubt they got steadily worse as the season progressed. The coach seemed to want them to play a brand of league the players were not used to, and , more importantly didn't want to play. Add to that their loss of key personnel and I can see them finishing fourth or fifth next term. Leeds will be the best team - but the most hated for their dirty play.

My only concern with MM's contract is the three years. If he proves to be as good as the pre match publicity, then it would be nice to think we had a coach who saw his long term career at Wigan. Even the best coaches need time to really get a whole club up and running properly; look at Ferguson up the road. We could be in the position of challenging for honours then having to start all over again. Look at Saints!

Other than that LETS GO GO GO!!!

The current squad can get a top 4 finish and a final (preferably both). And I think other than the Leeds in 1st the other 3 will be very tight between us, Saints & Wire.
