Problem we have is the same old story. We lose at its the same few who continually post here and moan. When we win there have a dodgy exscuse for not being on here.

Faz was right in what he said on Boots and All. We will be a force in 2-3 years time. Leeds had the same problems 18-36 months ago and look at them now.

Apart from Leeds if we had a fully fit squad id fancy us to beat any of the rest home or away. We need time which is what i feel Betts does not have. MO will swing the axe if we do not improve in the next 2-3 games. That is not being unsupportive of the club but the reality of modern day sport.

Even Tony Smith would struggle to get better from us at present as the injuries has decemaited and made loosing Faz even a more problem.

if we swap dennis betts for tony blair we would be led to believe that we won our last 3 games without conceeding a point, then some of our more gloomy fans would be happy :D

I think rad's body takes enough physical punishment this guy puts his body on the line for us week in week out, if hes pulled his hamstring he isnt going to be able to play wihtout making it worse. Is he not allowed to be injured?

Of course he's allowed to be injured.

Just lately he's injured too often for my liking.
Starting your pro career at 16/17 (as Faz did) is real tough.

He appears to be showing the strain (as Faz was) of constant battering his body takes.

May be time to offload him - if we had a replacementie ie: Briscoe.

He must on the money as is Carney and if they can't play are a drain on the clubs wafer thin resources

You don't see Leeds releasing McGuire, or Skints releasing Long, Sculthorpe etc, who are all players who have struggling with injuries for a while. Scully barely plays half a season, and Long needs those frequent visits to the hairdresser so misses lots of games as well. McGuire has been struggling to get much game time in recent months. All not too dis-similar to Rads who plays as often as he's able (and sometimes when he shouldn't). I agree there's a limit to what a squad can take, and if Carney breaks down again then I'd say the club would have to look at its options, but suggesting getting rid of Rads because he misses a couple of games every now and again is insane. We need experience which Rads has got and (eg) Briscoe still hasn't got as much of, and whilst it wouldn't surprise me to see Briscoe back at Wigan when he contract ends at Hull, we should leave that to happen when it happens rather than trying to force the issue. The alternative is very expensive - pay off Rads' contract, assuming he agrees to be released; pay off Briscoe's contract, assuming he and Hull agree to him being released; spend time trying to reorganise the Wigan team to cope with different style of play by a player in a pivotal position...

I understand where Doveoverdave is coming from Fraggle. McGuire is a young lad with a broken hand. Rads - great servant that he is - has played about 13 yrs top flight rugby and back injuries, hamstrings, etc can have a chronic feel to them in a player with this many games under his belt.
I wouldn't offload him - I just hope the club are right if they have Melling lined up as his eventual successor.

Have to say that I agree with Mrs Lam

I've been a regular visitor to this site for a good few years. I don't post a lot, mainly just read up on what's been going on around the club (I don't live in Wigan). Every so often I will throw in my 5 bobs worth when I have something to say.

As Mrs Lam stated, the negativity on this board has reached epic proportions. People are personally criticised all over the place - we went through this recently with Lactics fans posting on this site; however it shouldn't be happening between Ancient and Loyal fans.

This board is a place for people to discuss all things rugby - AND HAVE A GOOD TIME - not a competition to see who knows the most rumours/best way to run the club.

The same old subjects are dragged up and feature in nearly every thread - in fact reading the title of the thread rarely gives any indication of what will be going on beyond page 1. Tit for tat insults are swopped and there is a lot of "I told you so".

We all support the same team for pitys sake!!!
What part of saying that certain players, tactics, sigings are not good enough ? all the positivity in the world wont change the fact the a good few players are not upto scratch, the tactics are naive, my god show us a good signing, show us an improvement in our play, show us somthing positive, so we can ve positive, but I dont buy into all this they are stars od the future crap, because they are not. Apart from Hock, Lockers, Tickle maybe Wilde, the rest are not good enough. I pay my money to watch the team, I compliment them when they play well, I rave about class signing, then when the opposite occurs I say what I feel, that doesnt mean that im not loyal like you say, it just means I see whats happening at my club.

Posts on this board aren't a waste of time. You don't have to read them, but this board used to be like that. There were a few members with a lot of opinions on rugby, we didn't all agree with each other but there was seperation or insulting comments towards other members. People just stated what they thought and backed it up with opinions but then there were also posts that werent particularly to do with rugby but more to do with being friendly or having a laugh at something.

Try that on here now and you're slated for being a waste of time. It's getting ridiculous. If you don't like the way this board is, then go and find another one. "Fact" is that people on message boards, do not stick to the topic of the board at all times, because normal people (if i can call myself that) like to go off on one, as they say.

I'm just glad that the other members that used to be on here have rememberd what it was like on here and haven't becoming boring and repetitive.

We ALL know the team is not in top spot of superleague, we don't need people re telling us that every single time we lose AND everytime we win. Whats the point in any fan going tonight? When we get on this board later, it'll all be "We should have done this" "He should have been playing here" "We should have scored more" "He needs to be transferred"

Seems to me, the more positive people can outline both negatives and positives while focussing more on the positives but the negative people only see the negatives.

I've had enough :(

So what should we do Mrslam ? All sit here and say how wonderful we are doing? Or just ignore the fact that we an average side? Should we lie and say we will win SL this year? What should we do, a message board is to post what’s relevant to the team it’s associated with, not to sit around pretending things are not happening. Or should we just skirt around the subject and talk about the weather or something trivial and nothing to do with our club.

It's all well and good when we have a great team on the field, nobody has to say how bad we are do they, but we are, so we post about it.

You seem to have 2 groups here, one group who sees what’s going on with the side and say what they see, it’s honest but you all take it as being negative.

Then you have the other group who, well to be honest I don’t know what they are doing, to me it just looks like they want to ignore what’s going on and stick to the "we are building for the future" stance, well if I thought the young guys where good enough I would happily go along with that, but I don’t think they are good enough, so I say that.

I only post my thoughts is topics where its related, I dont go into threads and just hijack them, if you wanna post a nice happy topic that doesnt rave on about how good we are doing go ahead, il even be nice :D

You're missing my point.

I've said before, posts your opinions fair enough but do not slate other people for theirs. That's whats hypocritical, i'm not talking about you personally I'm saying others post their opinions and therefore "They are right, because we are in a desperate situation" but others don't see it that way, so in their eyes they are right. My whole point has been that everyone has different opinions but don't tell other people not to have theirs, and don't tell other people how to use the board, if it's to do with rugby it's fine, doesn't matter whether it is your opinion or not. I just miss, being able to come on here and say what I want without having to answer to people who think they know absolutely everything there is to know about rugby league and the Wigan team.
