aye like the idea of someone to mentor sam and the half backs, getting really excited for season now.
May bring womble out of retirement.
Good deal, well done again Mr L.
Perhaps he has been paying attention after all.

I thought Deacon was a bad idea with his age but when you say he will be a player in 2010 and a backs coach - specialising in Half backs for 2011 and 2012 the deal make sense.

Lets hope we are sort paying him in 2010 and making up for it when he is off the salary cap in 2011 and 2012 he is paid a lot more.

Well done IL and MM.

Welcome home DEAKS!

Reading between the lines, we'll pay him a pittance next season then bump his wages up for the next two years when he is off the cap.
It also doesn't mention a transfer fee anywhere despite the fact he had a year left on his Bradford contract. I suspect he was on a very good number at Bradford and they were happy to get him off their cap to make way for Orford.
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."

Sounds good, adds a bit of experience to the squad, remembering the fact Wigan have the youngest half back pair in Super League.

Lenegan seems to be doing a good job sorting out the back room staff.

we still need to get the pack sort out to give the half backs a problem
Did we see what damage a big strong back did to the Aussies on saturday
our front row is lightweight bar fekka
second and back row very fit very mobile very fast in comparrison but do they have the ability to make the hard yards and lay the play form?

the half backs and hookers are only as good as the go forward they are playing off

Good deal especially for 2011... a bit of the old, the new, and the present in our coaching set up... a vibrant mix IMO all can be good.

Welcome home Paul IMO should have got him from Oldham instead of high earning aussies at the time.
