Remember his first pass playing for Wigan, Gilly was having a fag near the touch line, no doubt recovering from his previous night out, when Kenny threw a 35 yard precision bullet pass to him. Gilly was so surprised, he almost scored.

Nice one In a way you are half right. He was the first Wigan player to win the Lance Todd award when Wigan
beat Barrow 10-0 in the 1949-50 Cup Final. The player in question - Cec Mountford.

Fractionally before my time, I only started watching in '54! Heard great things about him from my dad though.
