Re: Hansen ??
When was it legal to shoulder someone in the face. That was Typical Morley who was doing head shots all night.cherry.pie wrote:It was a fair and legal challenge from Morley, but Hansen must have been seeing stars for a while afterwards. It's always exciting to see big hits like that though, just a shame we didn't get to put some big tackles in ourselves but it's not that important when we win a game like that.
But how Westwood got away with the foot up challenge on Sam when he kicked the ball out on the full. His studs were inches away from his thigh, no wonder he pulled away.
Re: Hansen ??
It wasn't fair or legal.
Basically when Morley started playing for Leeds he used to do some terrific bell ringers where he took the full impact of the player on his own chest. He learned that the sternum is quite weak and missed several games through injury. This was around the time he took a Wigan player out (Mccormack?) and then Cassidy assaulted him in a very poor challenge. When he went to the NRL he fell guilty of the judiciary because he was swinging his arm. Whilst Down Under he perfected a challenge where he keep the arm stiff but sttraight down by his side and uses it as a clever stiff arm where it looks like he is almost shoulder charging the ball carrier. If you watch the Hansen challenge that is exactly what he did. Look what makes contact with Hansen, the arm of Morley.
The RFL should have done their job last week

Just watched the snakes v Catalans game on SKy and Olivier Elima was sent off for a similar challenge on Lomax.
Morley needs a ban to stop his thuggery. He was great last year, but seems to going back to his old ways under Smith.

Re: Hansen ??
happened loads of times. Remember the tackle by Northey on Smyth, and Andersons on Tickle. was a hard hit by Morley and Elimas was the same so we will have to wait on the judement

Thought the attacking player wasnt allowed to be hit above the shoulders with any part of the tackling players body.jackoh wrote:shoulder to the face is allowed
As commentaters often say, "that was a high tackle, but contact was made to the shoulders first". That is supposedly legal.
