Fozzius, if the world cup is on terrestrial television would it not make perfect sense for sky to want to show a high profile sporting event to get as many people watching at a difficult time for them?

How about moving it to Ibrox for "Trotski" and save some of us a trip down the M6 (LOL)

There's a football world cup?!?

I won't be watching any of the softy round ball rubbish - the sooner England crash out the better. I have nothing in common with any of the England soccer squad and find the game marginally less interesting and predictable than watching traffic lights change.

I'd rather watch Out of Africa!

Because I don't follow the sheep and support a mindlessly dull sport because I'm told to by the media/corporations? I don't follow football just because everyone else does - I make my own choices; if that means I don't "have a life" then so be it! :D

I don't enjoy playing or watching football. I have nothing in common with the average England football player and the way that some of them think that they can behave is frankly disgusting - as mirrored by the minority of "fans" that will no doubt decide to get blind drunk and cause trouble after the England team's exit (probably on penalties following 90 goalless minutes!).

I was in Greece for the last one (stupidly thinking that we might escape the world cup for two weeks) and the way drunken "football fans" behaved was totally unacceptable - and because we were English; we were treated as though we were the same. If you want to be associated with that; that's up to you. But I don't.

keep it civil please PW. He has a right to express an opinion without the personal insults. I personally aren't too bothered who wins the world cup but if its England we'll get football rammed even further down our throats. In terms of having nothing in common with England footballers its hard to argue with. They are held in high regard by many and are shocking role models and their wages are truly obscene.
