Israel Folau has emerged as a target for the Wigan Warriors
FORMER Melbourne Storm star Israel Folau has emerged as a target for the Wigan Warriors.
Folau, who will complete his second season with NRL club Brisbane Broncos this year, will be sounded out by the Warriors, as a potential signing for the 2011 Superleague season.
Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen confirmed yesterday Folau would be a free agent at the end of the year.
Folau's contract at Brisbane is for two years, with an option for two more, making him potentially available for a cross over to the Southern hemisphere.
Industry sources suggested the Warriors would have to pay around $600,000 for Folau, a task which could be made difficult with the Superleague salary cap restrictions.

As good as Folau is, would I want him at the expense of keeping 5 or 6 of our good youngsters at that price, no probably not. Can we not just show a little faith in Ainscough, Goulding and Thornley?
Wish list: Billy Slater please!!!!!!!!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

After todays performance by our players do we need to spend so much money on one individual.I know some of our squad are getting on in years but we do have a good squad of young ones coming through.
I need a good cup of tea and a slice of success
