General Election

Wigan is one of the safest Labour seats in the country with 55% majority from the previous election. I doubt we will see a change this year as the new MP sitting needs 11,000 extra votes to topple Labour.

I'm in Bolton West which is a bit controversial. Ruth Kelly is the current MP but standing down because 1/. she is thick, 2/. corrupt and 3/. cant do the job. The Tory candidate has been asked questions form her husband in interviews so thats more corruption and the Labour MP seems the kind of woman who is like my mum.

The current MP for Wigan Neil Turner is stepping down at this election he has been Wigan MP for 10 years which suggests Wigan is a pretty save Labour seat. The Labour candidate this year is Lisa Nandy.

The Labour candidate for my area game to visit my house the other day, a very nice lady even though she made up a few things.

It will be interesting to see how powerful the student/young people's vote is since there is a common attitude to go against the normal. The live debates have done a lot to increase the interests of students and the power of social networking could be a useful tool for any party.

I've heard a lot of rumours a bout Lib Dem policy being helpful to students. I can not find any fact being them but some people will be believe anything if the rumour is spread enough.

Wigan's been Labour since the time of the Romans, near enough, and that ain't gonna change, despite their performance.

Problem is, all the main parties are too similar in policies, these days. UKIP for me - yeah, I know they can't get in, but neither can anyone else.

Now in Makerfield constituency. Ian McCartney is standing down and much to my displeasure as a Labour Party member we have got a female candidate (Ms. Fovargue(???))from St Helens. I really dislike the all female shortlist for Labour candidates as I believe the chosen candidate should be the best person for the job be they male, female, trans-gender, black, white, gay, straight, Christian, Jewish, Muslim etc...

None the less Labour will get my vote as I think a Tory government would be a disaster for the economy.

We had William Hague visiting the Business Park where I work last week, You should have seen the effort they made to get people in to listen his speach, making the maintenance people use their lunch break to listen to him.

Just wish I could have been there to ask him a few awkward questions.

why don't i vote labour ..bankrupt country over run by eastern europeans who's kids get child benefits dispite the fact they'll never set foot in this country. if people don't want to work fook em .Make them do something in return for or cash . oh and don't forget afganistan and iraq at least we where equiped to fight in the falklands not sent out ill equiped while some fat fooker in Westminster who sent them there stole money for his pool to be cleaned or so he could get a house extension to put his ill gotten gains in . Oh and i live in N.Ireland and they just vote tribal here,your either green or red ,white and blue. Well let me tell you i'm cherry and white through and through. rant over . hate fookin politics

For the last few months I've been telling people who say they're voting tory that I wasn't planning on voting but if they're voting tory I'll vote labour to cancel their vote out. Hopefully I put a few of them off bothering but in West Hull it probably makes little difference. Labour all the way, as it has been with everywhere I've ever lived thank goodness. I find the majority of tory principles utterly repulsive. Duncan bannatyne has the right idea.
