Our sport is known for it's friendliness and at some grounds you can sit/stand amongst opposition fans and have a good time. It's a shame that a minority of ours fans can't even respect their fellow supporters. If it continues to be a problem then we may lose loyal fans attendance at games because of some idiots and that it not good for our game or the people of Wigan.

The drumming is awfully repetitive too, maybe he should experiment with different beats or maybe use other percussion instruments? He most likely won't though, "boof boof boof boof "it is then.

Youths are boisterous, always have been always will be, most of the time that's all they are, boisterous and occasionally annoying.... that's life.

I am not condoning some of the other activities with this crowd, I read somewhere that someone had thrown a coffee into the crowd at a recent match,which is wrong. The Stewards should do more to calm things down...but don't ban the drum!!!

I agree A&L. We need more atmosphere and less of the chav element. Stopping the drumming will diminish the atmosphere IMO

However, I do not mind drums or anything provided they are played correctly and their use timed effectively. Some half wit with no drum skills banging repeatedly like a 2 year old is not good nor is the moronic incessant barmy arm chanting.

Personally I go to a rugby match to watch rugby. I go to the Bridgewater Hall to listen to non popular music.

You seem to be making excuses for the loutish behaviour of the moronic element that make the South Stand a no go for some fans. Throwing drink/food etc down from the top, trying to trip the people up whose job it is the bring the loyal 18 flag up and down the stadia and worse wanting to abuse fans/fight are totally unacceptable.

Yes we were all young and no we did not act like morons. Why because my father would have sorted me. I wasn't a ferril child. If you did something wrong you copped the consequences and did not bleat, blame others or look for compensation.

The scum element needs to be dealt with. Zero tolerance

The problem with young fans causing bother seems to be evident in other clubs as well and is getting out of hand.

On Saturday strenoon i was heading to the beer tent outside the East stand when a rugby ball came flying in my direction, I cauught it (eat your heart out Pat)and threw it back to this young Warrington lad expecting a thanks mister but all i got was "F******G Wigan T****R .I pointed out to him i was indeed was a F*****G Scottish T****R who supports Wigan and he should learn how to behave . Just too receive another load of abuse . My son was all for taking him by the scruff of the neck and marching him over to a nearby polce officer to give him the fright off his life , but we would be the ones to get into trouble for touching the little low life .Had we done this i get the impression he would have given the police a dose of abuse as well as they all seem oblivious to any authority .

From what people have said in the other thread; I don't think that the drumming is the source of the problem - it's the other behaviours of those associated with it that cause a problem.

If all that happened was (poor) drumming and chanting; then that would be one thing. However getting blind drunk and acting like a total muppet is completely different.

The stadium should be no different to any pub or nightclub. People are encouraged to have a good time and make the most of the day/night. However as soon as their behaviour causes problems for other people and seriously spoils their enjoyment; then it they should be told to settle down or leave.

Being obnoxious - be it throwing food/drinks, being abusive or trying to hurt/fight/intimidate other fans is totally unacceptable and you can bet that like all chavs; as soon as someone did sort them out; they would be crying like babies.

They only behave that way because they believe that they are not going to get thrown out by the stewards (who they don't respect as a result) and realise that 99.9% of people would rather move than confront a gang of drunken youths.

Whilst it might be society that is to blame for the generation of miscreants that blights our country; it is the clubs responsibility to act on this before it becomes a real problem.

Totally agree and if the club dont deal with it lets take the Nathan Brown approach and let "the big blokes" go in there and sort them out or at least give them a real scare. This small minority of scum need dealing with and quickly. This goes for every other rugby team - deal with the idiots before they ruin the name of our great family sport.
