Ive read all these comments about the drummer and Id like to say a few words. For one I was the drummer the other day at murrayfield and I think all your comments about me are OTT I was doing my best to create a atmosphere and to be calld a Chav and a 2 year old are out of order imo. I go to watch my beloved Wigan to enjoy Rugby League not to engage myself with Hooliganism I am a longlife fan of our club 17 years in fact and would do anything to give our club a GOOD name not a bad one.

what happened in the Castleford end was a disgrace I went in that end on my own with my drum to sing a few songs with the Cas fans I previously watched all the games on the saterday (on tv) and thought the atmosphere was none existant so decided to try and get it going. But to my shock soon as i beated my drum a drunken Cas fan with the name ''Danny'' on his back decided to threaten me and swung for me Its disgracefull so I just walked away. I will openly admit a few of my mates who I go to rugby with where drunk and made a show of themselves in the Castleford end some where righfully chucked out and some where wrongly one who got a smack for doing absolute nothing at all apart from banging his drum too. they shouldnt of done what they did they shouldnt of gone so far into the cas end and Im not backing them at all when I say they are far from hooligans they ooze with pride for our club and being branded ''Chavs'' is again far from the truth.

I wanted to make a post on here to tell people im far from a Chav and will continue to beat my drum because I want to create a loud atmosphere at our club which to be honest is hard to do these days whether where winning or losing. And also wanted to tell people that some of the lads I go with are far from Hooligans we go to Rugby to enjoy and watch the club we love so much.

Daniel.

Daniel by your very post you are readily admitting several of your group were hooligans and thus are hooligans. Innocent friends getting hit is a byproduct of such moronic behaviour. Anybody inciting Castleford supporters given our recent history simply has not got a brain. You need to select your friends better IMO

Some where overly drunk and there was no need for what they did. I told them to not go in the end specially after the whole saga in 2006 about them getting relegated imo thats made a small rivalry between the clubs and going in there end was a bad idea. But like I said I didnt go in that end to cause problems Im a massive fan of rugby league without Wigan I dunno what id do rugby league runs through my blood I wouldnt want do anything to give our club and sport a bad name and neither would some of my mates. I think it was just a mixture of ale and wanting to sing a few songs with the cas fans but it turned out very wrong.

I just dont want to be called on here somebody named me a spotty ginger. Yeah I am ginger I have Ginger Wigan 18 on the back of my top calling me is OTT as ive done nothing wrong.

Well I don't think you should be called because your hair is ginger. I once had a colleague who was suspended for that.

Daniel is you sit/stand at the top of the South. Do what you can to get your friends and others to stop throwing things down the stand. It does not affect me as I sit too far away but they have become very annoying to a lot of people/fellow fans due to that practice.

CPwigan I have not seen this occuring from anyone I know and didnt see any object being thrown at murrayfield either. And it does not bother me being called it if it did I wouldnt of had Ginger Wigan 18 on the back of my top it just annoys me that Im being targeted for something I dont believe in myself and being branded a name I am far from.

I think that's just because you're more easily identified than your mates, some of whom you readily admit were causing trouble. If you re-read the first post in the thread, you'll see that stegy actually said:
...look for the spotty Ginger kid with the drum and they will see the rest of the clowns
Now admittedly he shouldn't have called you that, but it's clear he was just using that description to identify the group, not you in particular.

His description of what happened (1st post on page 2) ties in pretty well with your account, I'd say.

That's exactly the sort of behaviour that even you must see does no credit to the club or the fans, and is the sort of thing the club want to stop. If, as you say, they "they ooze with pride for our club", then they have a funny way of showing it, I'm afraid.

Drummer lad:

I usually sit in the east but the one time I sat in the south stand I saw you with your drum and saw one of your acquaintances throwing a pint of beer and reported it to a steward who did nothing. Had I not read the posts on here over the past year I would have thought it was an isolated incident but clearly its not, so how are you not seeing this or hearing the language of those around you. At the very least you need to change your mates because you are recognised by people and one of these days someone will take exception and as I have seen in all-seater stadiums before all hell will break loose and you will be involved in it you might get seriously injured for something which may not be your fault but unfortunately you become guilty by association. There's a good chance if anything happened that you could even get a ban, maybe that's grossly unfair but its a real possibility. Again, choose your friends better, the seating in the South stand isn't reserved so why not take a couple of your decent mates who, like you say, go to watch the game, and sit somewhere else. It may be that due to your age and the society you've been raised in that you have different standards of behaviour to others but the people on here who are raising the point are people I have spoken to here to for a long time, genuine fans who don't want trouble. Even if its only one or two of your mates throwing things and making comments to people, the bad language I heard was from the vast majority of the little scroats. Rugby League is a family game and in a couple of years time I want to know that I can take my daughter knowing that the environment will be safe and not intimidating for her. Do the right thing, this is a far more friendlier warning than you could be getting bud.

If you think there's not a problem, imagine you had a 5 year old kid, would you take your child and sit in the same place you do now? If not why not?

Also can you learn to play the drum if you're going to carry on taking it please, because you might think that banging it over and over is getting an atmosphere going but quite frankly its mind numbingly boring and we never had any problem with atmosphere before the stupid things were introduced to rugby games.

Firstly Daniel, well done for posting and getting involved in the debate; that shows that you care about what other people think and don't want to be labeled a trouble-maker.

However I think that you need to take a step back and take a look at it from other fans viewpoint.

Whilst you might have known your mates for a long time and know that for the most part they are more noise than anything else; the vast majority of people who see them heavily drunk and using foul language do not. You must see how a large group of noisy youths that appear to be drunk will intimidate other people. Just because you don't feel uncomfortable in their presence; doesn't mean other people feel the same.

First impressions and appearances are what people go on. I'm 6 feet 7 inches tall and just over 17 stone. This means that some people feel a little unsure when they see/meet me. I always try and be friendly; so that people realise that I am not the sort of person who likes to start trouble. You might want to get your mates to just be friendly to other fans and say "hello" and have a bit of a chat with them; especially the little kids and older fans - and perhaps it's worth encouraging your mates to wait until after the game to get smashed. If you did this then I am sure that a lot more people would want to sing along with you and your friends as they would feel that you were the same as them; rather than a group of anti-social trouble-makers who are not interested in the game and are only there to get leathered. And THAT would certainly build the atmosphere that you are trying to create.

If any of the people that you sit with immediately say that they "don't care what anyone else thinks" and they are "going to do what they like" and that they want to "get leathered" etc etc then that is a pretty strong signal that they don't share your pride and passion for the club. What's more; the club will only stand for it for so long and it's likely that if they do act; then it will be to ban the whole group; rather than just one or two.

Regarding both of your posts and this thread I have had a word with a few of my mates and told them too calm it down at away and home matches. Lets face it this has been going on for a while now all the ''South Stand Chavs'' name calling and I just want it all stop now especially for the decent fans like myself who just go to the match to enjoy my rugby league.

But if it does carry on I cannot get the blame for this I do try at matches to make them act a little more decent when where around the public but some decide its funny when its clear from what you have been saying its not.]

Also I can say there are a good few of us who simply go to the match for the same reasons I do and we are being wrongly accused. Even the people who you say are causing all the problems are usually all not like that I have known most for a long long time and they are all good lads just when they have had a few pints down them they change a bit which obviously is causing all the problems here.

Regarding my drumming Im not usually the drummer at matches its my mate who does all the drumming hes been doing it years but he let me do it all at Murrayfield and tbh I think I did a good job but you obviously didnt think so. So from now on I will limit my drumming.

I hope all of this stops I just want to go to matches knowing I and many others of my mates are not hated and being looked down on because of what other people do.
