but you do when being a stand in for the injured first choice hooker, as has been said Lulu ain't a hooker he just filled in and did a half decent job in that role

Thats my view Medlocke, there is a big difference between being a world class player in a position like for example of a WC hooker is Smith, and being better than what's the best option in your team which is what lulu was in both the NZ squad and Wigan.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

What Tommy does for NZ dont matter a monkey's, as long as he does it for Wigan, thats what matters.
Tommy has had been playing pretty good at Wigan this season irrespective of it being at 7 or 9.

I agree! In fact Tommy, Nathan Fien & Lance Hohaia who are all considered half backs all played out of position at times during that world cup (Hohaia at FB & Fien at Hooker for the group games). Their only hooker by trade was Isaac Luke and he stuck out like a sore thumb as the best hooker they had when he was on. Would love us to sign Isaac when Piggys contract is up, great little player.
I think Tommy's game control is developing, and he has the raw attributes to be a quality player. I do think we need a back up for when Deacon retires, as I never fancy Lockers at Stand off. Can't see Kevin Brown coming back to be a backup or utility player though.
