I don't really see what Goulding did to deserve missing out; he certainly hasn't been any worse than Gleeson has been recently
Apparently he was injured. Knock to the knee

What staggers me is how he escapes scot free when others would have been put in the stocks and then hung for less. Imagine Ainscough (Dave O's case is proven IMO by the way fans have reacted differently to Gleeson than Ainscough. Imagine Pryce, Goulding, Phelps. IMAGINE if anybody else had;

1) Been out drinking for 7 consecutive Nights after the Widnes victory, turned up to training hungover, continued to annoy Madge and Waney that he had to be dropped and disciplined

2). A Crusaders players ran straight through a so called tackle for a try

3). A Leeds players runs through him when he couldn't even be bothered to move up in line with his team mates.

4). Has a past record for miscreant / unprofessionalism. Tony Smith wanted shut from day 1 when he took over at Wire

The rumour I have heard is that Wigan have talked re a swop with Kevin Brown.

I cannot believe fans have notr slated Gleeson, especially how the often react to others. Dave O will have a field day with the double standards.

Maybe he wasnt slated as people dont have proof he done this.
If a professional player has been proven to binge drink like this, he deserves to be kicked out of Wigan Warriors RLFC as far as I am concerned.
It happened PM and hence he was publically dropped / disciplined.

I completely agree cp, never liked him never wanted him & have never rated him, his cousin Sean is a better & more professional player than he is.

Couldn't understand what Lenegan was thinking, the same with signing Paul Deacon!! Just cos he is a Wigan born player doesn't mean he is going to be any good for us. It was just, IMO, to placate the fans , with him saying he wants Wigan born players at the club, they are both past their sell by date. If they aren't going to offer anything better than an overseas player, some who are just as, if not more, passionate about this club, then I don't see the point!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Gleeson has been poor and was poor yesterday. He's got the talent but not the attitude. Who do we play though? I'm afraid I still don't think Goulding is good enough and I don't seen anyone in the youngsters worthy of the spot. It's an area Madge needs to look at along with a prop.

Have been told by a very decent source that Kevin Brown is about to sign a 5 year deal at Huddersfield so can't see this coming off.

Gleeson is a bit of a loose canon, and i would rather play goulding than someone who has not got the correct attitude or commitment to training and fitness.
Just remember tho a certain centre that played for us used to drink heavily, but he played that well that no one needed to make comments about his private life.
oh yes and he was and imo still is very gorgeous.

woo hooooooo!
cheered me up after yesterday!!!

by the way, i agree re Gleeson to an extent. the problem is that 99% of the time he is an asset in defence.
when he missed a few games this year we HAVE missed him. therefore to replace him, we MUST replace him with a class defender but then someone who offers more in attack...

not easy

Indeed and Andy Greg likewise but it never affected their on field form as far as we know / noticed. Gleeson it clearly has. His defence is his greatest asset normally.

I do think if player can manage it, being tea total is better for them. By drinking alcohol they are damaging / limiting their's own body willingly. After they end their playing career, fine.

Of our two "first choice" centres; I think that Carmont has been streets ahead of Gleeson in recent games. For what ever reason, Gleeson seems to be more interested in other things. However I can't see him leaving at the end of the season as he is unlikely to get a better pay day elsewhere.

Ever the professional, Gleeson was on the piss around Standish last night. Not a rumour, he was out with his brother and a couple of mates.
Didn't see any of the consistent performers out though.
