but both performed

glees might be having a bit a bad patch at home or something but we are top of league at mo we will have 3 players on england duty game after next, IMO glees will be back on form and stand up and be counted.

he missed a tackle in the 80th min its not end of world, after playing a really tough match in hard condtions, if u see it again he does grab smith and goes low smith does break/slip through. he stepped aswell. it was a hard tackle in hard condions all those things together as well as luck and not completing led to leeds being where they was,

glees was just the man who was there, had he scored the winner up other end this thread would not exist nor would it exist had the missed tackler been lockers or pat or prob anyone else
No your right missing that tackle is not the end of the world, just the end of our challange cup run for this year thats all.
Give him a break i think we did that by signing him on a big contract, because warrington wanted to get rid of him for the same reasons he got dropped by Madge.Wasnt he also involved in the Sean long getting sent home from the GB tour incident.
Oh yes and he is no longer considerd good enough to play for his country any more at the age of 29.He is a good playe with a bad attitude IMO. Thats why he's been allowed to leave every club he's played for.
So were out of challenge cup, we lost a very hard tight game, which could of gone either way GET OVER IT,

more fool wigan warroirs for signing him if it was well known he likes a beer [and a flutter].for me i'd replace him with marsh anytime
I am over it,it just seemed that you were saying so what he missed that tackle it desnt matter.Your right i think it was a mistake signing him IMO, but the least you should expect from him is to act in a professional manner.

I was always against the signing of Gleeson because of his attitude and off field history and because I think he was and still is very over rated as a player. His performances since then and stories I have heard simply back this up.

People are talking about Gary Connolly liking a drink like it is some sort of an excuse for Gleeson. Connolly was a fantastic defensive centre, and although never being the best or quickest in attack, his attack became virtually non existant and he slowed down a lot towards the end of his career and wasnt anywhere near as good as he was in his earlier years. Was this his off field activities catching up on him, would he have been a lot better without liking a drink? Who knows for certain but it certainly wouldnt have helped and I see a lot a parrells with Gleeson.

As you get older you have to look after your body much more to prolong your career, you simply cant do the things you would have done when you were 22 and expect to get away with it. That his why people like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes who have looked after their bodies as they have got older can still perform at the highest level in their mid 30s. Shaun Edwards and Ellery Hanley also fell into this category.

Overall since joining Wigan Gleeson has been very disappointing and for whatever reason has largely got away with it. He cost a lot of money and no doubt commands a high wage and I cant see how anyone can argue that he has been worth it. His supposed main strength is his defence but that has been fairly poor for the last couple of months. In attack I think that he has been very poor. He is very greedy and rarely passes to his winger. I dont think that he is much of a team player and he plays for himself too much. Gleeson has set up few tries and most of the tries scored by the winger on his side seem to come from passes by O'Loughlin or whoever is full back, missing out Gleeson completely. If he was performing on the field then people may turn a blind eye to what he does off it. However he is not performing and so people are entitled to question not just his performances but things that may be affecting them.

Do you seriously think the exception (Connally) proves the rule?

The game is different now and if the club does not want to tolerate players getting legless then that is fine by me.

It's a pro sport and any advantage you can get you take and that means players are at least not expected to get sloshed but more than likely really means they are banned form doing so.

I simply so not get it that whenever this subject comes up people actually defend heavy drinking by our players. It's just not compatible with being a top athlete regardless of Connally's constitution.

Gleeson was superb today, giving his winger three walk ins. Easily overplayed Shenton.

It seems that Maguire has had a word and told him to actually pass to his winger. It was good to see though as we only normally see Carmont setting up those sort of walk in tries for his winger. Hopefully he will keep it up but consistency from him has been a big problem this year.

Shenton is so overated and benefits from playing at a team like Cas where he can stand out a little. If he played for a top team he wouldnt get half the plaudits and would have had a career similar to Goulding's up to now.
