Coley sending off
Whilst I've seen these decisions ignored, and I've seen them given the referee easy way out "on report", I agree that given the circumstances this was the correct decision by the referee (or was it??). As I believe that in these instances it is the refereee who makes the decision as per his view of the incident, hence, if he does not see it clearly he puts the player on report, if he does it SHOULD (although not always) be a red card.
BUT ... my problem is here that watching on TV it was obvious that "BENT" - ham was chirping in his earhole, and it was him who told the referee (who I thought was sh*te all night) to show the red card.
Now I thought that the video referee should not influence such decisions, am I wrong?? or is this a continuing conspirency??

Re: Coley sending off
I shall watch that incident again tomorrow when I have a clearer head.
But I distinctly heard Childs say "Ten Off", off camera, apparently before he consulted with his touch judge.
The tackle didn't look good but he might ne lucky and get a SOS. He's not exactly Jim Mills is he!

Looked worse in slow mo and the video ref called it

Deserved red, IMO. If it had been, say, Morley or Fozzard, we'd have been calling for red.

It deserved a red, and I think it was Childs in consulttion with the touch judge.
Childs was poor, and seemed hel bent on getting Catalans if not back into the game, scoring some points.
RFL directive to justify giving them another franchise?
Having said that, if they give Les Cat's a passage to Wembley too justify it, then great, as long as they stuff wire and make mardy Briers cry.

Well it was high but a straight red??
Yellow i would have thought as the game had not had a lot of high tackles and i don't recall any warnings going in about them first. I was expecting a yellow to come out of his pocket and i believe Child was about to do that too. How many tackles this season have we seen where the tackler gets an on report or warning some worse than that one too. Just hope by getting the redcard in the 1st instance the panel will be nicer to him and not give much!! :conf:

Deserved a red. Referees should take action in the match the offence occurs.

100% sending off.
Sooner refs get away from "Players On report", therefore punishing a team immediately, is better for the sport.
No consistancy in refereeing makes this a debarcle, and must be made more consistant.

Thought it deserved a red . But if Mr Bentham had a hand in it being changed from yellow to red I suggest he looks again at Jammie Peacock's assault on Sam , was there any difference .

Re: Coley sending off
I think it was a sending off but then so was many, many others of a similar type that go unpunished. I'd have no problem with Coley going so long as there's consistency.
The biggest crime of the game (for us watchning Sky) yet again was that complete idiot Stevo. I used to think he was just a 6-fingered, one-eyed Yorkshireman but now I simply think he's just plain thick (and 6 fingers etc).
