what is not appreciated is that it was not really his fault,
firstly the kick was delayed such that he was offside, the kick was not high enough such that he got there too late to take the ball, Sam was too sure with his handling and did not drop the ball and being brave enough not to let the ball bounce, and thus Ablett was forced to smash his forearm into Sam's jaw who inturn ducked into the cowardly challenge.
I think these could only be the grounds on which an appeal could be made.
If the appeal is considered frivolous then I understand the sanction could be increased either more matches or anincreased fine , but please do not hold your breath.
I don't think Wigan will concern themselves to much with what the RFL disciplinary comity do to Ablett.
Wigan under Lenegan have kept very quiet when dealing with the disciplinary comity and just take the RFL decision without question or appeal, there have been plenty of times when Wigan had a case to appeal but choose not to. On the opposite side Leeds choose to push the disciplinary comity as far as possible by appealing every decision.
If the disciplinary comity has any integrity then it should not matter what Shaun Wane said it should follow it's own guidance and the guidance of the officials. Since when should coaches be allow to decide what is punished and what isn't.
The ban should be doubled just because he's got the cheek to appeal, he should be thankfull that Sam is ok and that the RL is corrupt. In any other sport he would have got a lot longer ban than he got.If it gets reduced it will make our great game look totaly stupid.
For me one of the main problems for me is that the game is being run by buisness
men and not Rugby League men. Like has been said earlier the RL should listen to the fans more and not the bean counters and suites.
Normally the appeal should have been heard today but Leeds made the appeal late and IMO should now wait until the next apeeal hearing next week the 10th but oh sorry it's Leeds so they are hearing the appeal tomorrow. The meeting and appeal dates are established at the begining of the season.
Ablett never has been and never will be appealing!
The ban range for the Grade C offence was 2 to 3 matches. As he got the maximum; he has nothing to lose by appealing against the decision. Unfortunately I don't think that the disciplinary can ban him for any more matches
Whilst it will not benefit Wigan whatever happens now - I do hope that the ban is upheld. Leeds have been a dirty team for a long time now and it's about time they were brought to book.
The "challenge" should have seen Ablett sent off and then banned for the rest of the season.

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?
Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

It's a pity Sam s too honest, he shuld have gone down and stayed down, then Ablett would have walked.
The kid is too tough fior his own good.
Didn;t a certain Mr Newton get his ban increased after appealing when he accidentaly smashed Longys ugly mug?
