Yep, more truer than Wane... Wane naturally would defend a forward having being one but as a coach has to be diplomatic.

Is it just me or is Smith the man responsible for the dirty tactics. Leeds under him got dirtier and dirtier, Now wire are playing the same way. As England coach he was useless without his dirty players.

it doesnt exactly benefit us a 3 match ban anyways as we don't have to play them again, now if it was a 4 match ban and leeds finish 4th then it would be a different story.

They should give Ablett another couple of matches for having the cheek to appeal, also why dont the panel have ganson and the linesman up as well for not sending him off.

:o so the RFL have common sense after all. Still I think the RFL should increase bans on players who appeal without good reason.

This season Leeds have appealed every decision by the RFL not only does this make Leeds look dishonest but is a massive waste of time for everyone involved. Start handing out additional bans and this practice would quickly stop.

The RFL report makes interesting reading, not only does Gary Hetherington seem to have been watching an entirely different match he also argues the case that Ablett did not deliberately hit Tomkins in the head even though the charge was:
Law: 15.1(a) Detail: Strikes with hand, arm or shoulder – forearm - reckless Grade: C

This from the Wigan Today website

"An RFL appeals tribunal on Thursday upheld the ban after deciding that, although there had been no malice or intent to cause injury, it was only through good fortune that Ablett's 15th-minute head-high tackle had not caused serious injury to Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins."

"Although there had been no malice or intent......"

Are they mind readers now? The only pwerson who knows that is Ablett and he is hardly going to say"Oh yeh, I went in to take him out" now is he?

Feels good hearing that news... the thing is, decisions like this go on every week not just against Wigan, and fall under 'our' radar because who'd want to be interested in a Crusaders playing doing the same to a Quin? the point is ref's need to be more consistant.
