Great performance. Prescott and McIlorum were fantastic and put to bed my fears about how we cope when Piggy and Coley/Fielden go off. Our defence was superb and we did extremely well defending repeat sets which most of the time I felt we were unlucky to have to be defending. I agree Silverwood let the game flow well but every 50/50 went against us mainly for ball steals and the rule about dragging a grounded player which only seems to apply one way, if Burrow was tackled then Goulding was about a minute later. These decisions can be crucial in tight games but when a team gets the rub of the green and still loses and still whinges at the ref throughout it makes it all the more sweet. Our discipline was brilliant too, we hardly gave any penalties away, and the ones we did such as the holding down against Goulding were pretty minor and if anything pretty dubious. Chuffed to bits with the lads but we should have kept Nobby :-) :-)

One of the best defensive displays i've seen from Wigan and Prescott was unreal getting through the gain line.

In almost every attack Leeds were brought to a standstill at 20 metres out no where to go and no idea what to do about it.

I had a ticket for the game, but when it came time to leave for the ground I completely bottled it. I just couldn't face maybe losing to that club and have to listen to their truly shabby supporters gloating and singing their pathetic songs. Nor could I bear to go and watch the game in the pub. Instead I went out with the missus. It didn't help! All I kept thinking was "how are we doing"? My stomach was churning round and round; I just could not settle to do anything. I waited till 7pm, then logged on to the bbc website to get the result. My cries of delight must have been heard in London. I have never been so emotionally involved in a game before. For some reason this game meant more than any other. I have tickets for the GF and will go to OT and regardless - well almost - of the result, I intend to have a ball.

THANK YOU MADGE AND THE BOYS, YOU HAVE MADE AN OLD MAN VERY VERY HAPPY. YAHOOOOOO!!

The wind was definitely a factor Mike but my biggest concern was the sun in our eyes which Leeds definitely played on. I knew if we could contain them in the first half, we would hammer them after the turnaround. IIRC, we struggled at home against Wire and Stains playing into the sun!

Yes!

I'm a teacher in Leeds and all my students have been winding me up about how great Leeds are all week...

I sense they might be a bit quieter this week.

Wearing my shirt for work on monday.

Thought Carmont was outstanding at times. His tackle on the penultimate set before we won the ball back at the end in the corner to wrap up Hall with a man outside him was perfect technique.

Prescott suddenly looked a monster?

Made my year. Thanks Madge and the boys.

After all the grief they give us, a Leeds fan gave me a high-five [not a punch] and wished me well on my walk home from Headingley.
