You were probably aware of it before most of us Josie, I found out on internet just as the first match ended and wondered why they hadn't said anything but obviously they were probably double checking that the story was true which is fair enough but it also gave Hemmings longer to consider what he might say rather than make thoughtless and offensive comments
When I was told bout 3 ish I was ringing round & sending emails to different people to make sure it was true & even then I posted it on rumour mill.
Still very upset was chatting to him on Friday morning, he seemed fine - his cheeky self. I'm just devastated by it.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
Perhaps the clubs Terry played for should do an Alex Ferguson and refuse to do interviews for Sky or at least refuse to talk to Eddie until he appologises for what was an incredibly insensitive comment.

i was appalled yesterday at eddie hemmings tasteless comments upon hearing the sad news of terry newtons death i feel eddie crossed the lines of taste and decency and should be made accountable for his actions preferably by being relieved of his duties on our tv screens as i for one am sick of the sight of him not only is he tactless he is also very biased but this final disgusting act is the straw that broke the camels back he should at the very least be made to make a public apology before the grand final preferably pitch side infront of the wigan fans.
im a huddersfield fan and terry newton never played for my team it doesnt make it any less of a loss he was a great player and thats how he should be remembered not as eddie put it a drugs cheat shame on you eddie hemmings!
