somebody said on sky that they can only be given if the offence is performed in the in goal area and not in the field of play, sorry if this has already been mentioed, i've been up since 4am and can't be arsed reading after the first few posts :conf:

I think this is one of the few changes in recent years that have worked. Can you imagine Briers or any of the whinos just letting go of the ball as soon as a hand went near it and getting a penalty try?

read on the text, that the rule has been changed a video ref can not award a penalty try, only a penalty to the attacking team

was this recently mate? Missed that completely, assume its only for a ball steal they can't give a penalty try?

can't see it being an issue really mate, why would they risk it if they're in a position where they're definitely going to score anyway? Stupid rule change in my opinion might as well do it every time potentially saving 4 points with hardly any risk of getting sinbinned now they've so blatantly set a precident.
