Cracking suggestion! I would imagine it would get a great deal of support. Though I suspect if it should happen it would be pre season friendly. Imagine his wife and kids could do with the extra income. It would be interesting to see how many would turn out for a testimonial match in recognition of Terry's contribution to Wigan's cause. :D

It would be a game involving the old Wigan Players and old Great Britain Legends. Also the money raised would be upto Terrys family which i would think would go to the butterfly charity which was very close to terry heart. plus i would hope there wher next to 600 watching it has was when St Pats had a game for Mike Gregory and so did Chorley Panthers.
But has i said if u have any ideas then please let me know and ill add them to my list

Thanks

Excellent idea , hope it can be arranged.
Gives those of us who could not say goodbye to Tez good way to remember him.

we need someone who can sponsor a game in memoery of Terry Newton. The sponsor would cover travel and insurance for both teams there kit and venue and also any other things we would need. Any donation would be grateful even if its only a pound has all money will then be added together.

Thanks

Jimbo, as much as I admire your enthusiasm, I think its highly unlikely that you'd be able to raise sufficient funds for the above. I would suggest reaching out to the club and/or RFL for assistance. The news articles and write ups featured following his death were proof that he was a much loved fellow... Heck if you reach out to the club they may be able to lay on the perfect spread.
