Does Steve McNamara have to go, and who should replace him?
Tell me what you think? I am asking this even before the 4 nations has even finished. And looking at the 17 he has picked against PNG it is just a case of giving everyone in the squad a game so to avoid injuries and lick our wounds for another 12 months. We could get turned over tomorrow by PNG. I think he should go and be replaced by Shaun Wane.
Dont know if Wigan would allow it though but Shaun must have and will in the future learn from Madge that can then be rubbed off onto our international game. It is really only a part time post so am sure Shaun could handle it.

Let me just edit what i have just written. Shaun would have learned coaching methods and tactics in the last 12 months and will continue to do at Wigan.
I have watched a lot of the NRL over the last couple of seasons and am impressed the way Melbourne Storm play. This is due to the coaching tactics of Craig Bellamy who i rate very highly. His assistants were Madge and Stephen Kearney who is now of course New Zealand coach. Dont know if any of you have noticed but NZ reminded me a lot of how the Warriors played last season and how the Storm have been playing. This time last season Wigan were after Kearney and now i can see why. He will be coaching Parramatta next season so lets see how they do.
The NZRL have no problem with Kearney taking the Eels job for 2011 so lets give the job to Wane because he cant do any worse than Mc Namara who coaching methods date back from the Brian Noble Bradford Bulls days, and in my opinion the game has changed since then.

I don't have any candidates to put forward for a replacement but he has to go! A lot of people thought that the appointment was a bad one initially, even more do so now. With every England/GB manager we hear the same:
- invest in youth
- more work with grassroots players
- we need to match the aussies
- we are capable or equal to the aussies
- we need to play for 80 minutes
Whoever the coach is or whatever the circumstance we hear the same dross every year before a tournament. Can anyone remember a time when it was different in the past 2 decades? We will see the same England now as we have done since the mid 90s... We are a joke and expect to be beat, it won't change for years. We could have Bobby Goulding as coach and things won't change (much, negatively)

Get rid now!! He is useless as a coach as he proved at Bradford.
He doesn't generate any confidence from me so God help what the players think

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The players are much more unhappy than they care to admit publically. Whatsmore, the coach has little or not faith in the majority of the players and they sense it.

Would like to see someone of the calibre of Wayne Bennett persuaded to see if he can instue a winning mentality.
The Australian coaching skills and mentality has proven a success in Superleague with Huddersfield's and Wigan's recent improvement.

Sadly I do not see any positives at the moment with Mac the plank or with the rfl as a whole.Unfortunately they are like sailors adrift on the high seas without a rudder. In god's name who from the British contingent can they appoint as head coach? We are not devoid of coaches who could step upto the plate but I for one find it a struggle to name one!The players seem to be lacking in confidence under his guidance or lack of said guidance.I genuinely am at a loss to see anyone capable other than our own Shaun Wayne. And England can go and stuff themselves if they want him.Sadly I honestly think we have no option left open to us other than to look toward Aussie. Or if one can dream the impossible dream.Shuan Edwards.
