Yeah, you can't see their logo at all!cpwigan wrote:I have to say if I was the sponsor I would not be happy simply on the basis the sponsor name is somewhat hidden. A white coloured font would highlight your name better IMO.

Re: New Shirt Revealed! Cherry and what...?
shocking ! thats the only word i will use for that shirt . If you took the crest and sponsor off it could be anyone's shirt, salford, HKR, crusaders etc etc.... i know its a bit extreme over a shirt but imo we have lost our identity with that, as a one off maybe but red and pink all season ffs.

I like the shirt , But IMO , never in a million years is it a Wigan shirt.
2002 and EW is hooked
Re: New Shirt Revealed! Cherry and what...?
I actually don't mind the design, if it was made by ISC it might look better but the Kooga material is terrible. Still I'll probably end up buying it or might even wait until the away shirt comes out and see what thats like.

Awful - worst shirt Wigan have had since I started supporting them (that includes the shirt with the warrior on it)
The only psychological edge that will give us is that opposing teams might find it so awful to look at that they have to look away.
Definitely won't be buying it

This was posted by an opposition fan on rlfans and I have to say he is 100% correct:
Which soccer team was it that brought out a non-traditional kits some years back? Was it Liverpool or Man Utd? Anyway it was so disliked by the fans it didn't take long for the club and players to realise this and it is attributed as having a negative effect on the teams performance. They ditched it pretty quickly.

Did they actually run this pass any focus groups or anything? I mean real focus groups not people who would agree with anything Wigan came out with, even playing in pink frilly knickers if Madge or IL said it would given them a psychological edge!Right, as a non wigan supporter my opinion probably doesn't mean anything but … As a designer and someone who has worked in marketing for many years and worked with some pretty big brands, I will say this shirt is ridiculous, heres why. Your team in RL circles is massive, the name Wigan RL is probably one of the most recognisable names in RL, as are the colours your team play in. Why on earth when you have just won a championship and you get to play a WCC would your club decide to change one of the most famous and memorable aspects of your club - the team colours! if there was any time to release a kit that resembled the kit that your ultra successful team of the 80's wore it was now, horrendous piece of design, but above all, an horrendous waste of a marketing opportunity,. Imagine you all remembering the great 80's wigan team and then seeing what could be another great wigan team in similar colours.

Exactly Dave. The Brand Wigan RLFC is on the up and up and the traditional cheerry & white hoops are a big part of that brand. Russel Crowe is a mover and shaker but even he is wary of tampering to much with the famous Rabbitoh colours.DaveO wrote:This was posted by an opposition fan on rlfans and I have to say he is 100% correct:
