New Shirt Revealed! Cherry and what...?

I've been a fan since '86, and this is definitely the worst shirt to date. My company had the opportunity to be main sponsors for next season, and unfortunately it didn't materialize. If I'd have known our logo would have been printed on this, I'd have had very serious reservations.

I'm a graphic designer myself, and as somebody said, the overall look of this seems amateurish. It lacks the clean lines, colours and tradition that represents the club. The white wavy lines are either a link to last season's kit, or worst, a Kooga template.

Real shame, and no way I would buy it. I know what Applicado will have paid, and can see little chance that they'll stand out on TV with such a messy, distracting background.

cool shirt, i like it, nice and modern and will probably appeal to the younger generation, too much moaning about the colour etc etc, its too red, its too white or wheres the black pipping, who gives a shite, its only a shirt ffs and afterall theres only so much you can do with cherry and white hoops

It is far from "Just a shirt"
It is a symbol of Wigan RLFC, the famous Cherry and white.
That's like saying, it den't matter if England no longer flew the cross of St George or Lancashire no longer displayed the red rose.

Just shown my son the new shirt and he thinks it looks great.I keep looking at it but cant help feeling a bit disappointed with it.

Based on the replies so far, I can't see this being a best seller. I'll probabaly get one though, as I only tend to change when the sponsors change.
Still unsure and will have to see how it looks in real life, or see what the away one looks like (probably be black with black stripes)

to be honest one of the main reason i was getting a shirt this year was to have the Champions badge on. does anyone know if you can have it on the retro shirts. if so i'll get that

Can't work this one out. Quite like the shirt in itself but it's not a Wigan shirt. My thoughts are that the club had the opportunity to really maximise sales given what happened last season and they've brought out a shirt which will completely divide people. There's no sense in that to me as a huge quantity are going to hate it. A real marmite situation.

I agree. There will be a lot who won't buy this shirt whereas I think a more traditional design (which does not have to mean old fashioned looking ) would have sold to all types of fan, young and old alike, simply because its the champions shirt.

Put it this way I am sure those who like this shirt would have been equally happy with a more traditional design whereas certain sections of the fans (a majority?) won't be seen dead in it.
