Not being harsh on deacon but he does seem to be getting knocked about a bit, we miss him thats my point, reminds me a lot of when Edwards was geting to the end hope he proves me wrong. We miss PAT a lot, goal kicks, drop outs, big down fielders but his catching as well both ends of the field, under pressure safe and it helps Sam out, he also takes that ball in well first or second play, like an extra forward again off the back Sam often finds a bit of space and creates somthing. It was the lack of "DOG" today that gave Hull a sniff and it was enough to keep them at it, fire with fire was what was needed and it showed late on.

oh right sorry missed that. He looked in a right mess when he went off. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes him to recover because we need him.

Agar is using the oldest trick in the book re defending his team and making out Wigan were the bad guys. His team is very limited so they resort to "spoiling tactics" and roughing up the opposition. The man is clinging to his job so will make any excuse he can for his team. We all saw what went on, we know what the referee did/didn't do but the bottom line is we played some dumb rugby today and were lucky to get a win. That said there are worse things than being a lucky team. And I'm glad I don't have to watch Hull every week!!

Well that was a mixed bag wasn't it?!

First of all I have to say that we lacked intensity in our game which is something that we normally have in abundance. In the first half we were dreadfully slow at marker and got caught out numerous times. we lacked ideas when in the final qtr and didn't look like making a break. Mike Mac had a woeful 5 minutes, his distribution was the worst it's been for a while, passes nowhere near the bread basket. We started to get a head of steam when tommy went into dummy half more regually in the last 20 mins. Hoffman was our best forward on the pitch and seemed to be the one trying to get the lads fired up. Gnason was awful and for him not to sin bin manu or lualaki was just asking for trouble. Joel needs to grow up quick because that was a smacked arse's trick, every credit for taking the tap in first up and running it at the lad who you've just had a set to with but to raise your elbow/forearms like that is cheap. I'm still unconvinced on marsh but it's early days. big call on deacon next week. if he's doubtful madge has to bite the bullet and put sam to 6 and amos at 1.

I think Deacs needs to be used sparingly so for me that means until Finchy is fit, Sam back to 6, Amos at FB. The other alternative and if the outside backs had more experience I would say give him a go would be Powell but at the moment no.

I think we have to remember that the WCC is often followed by a dip in form. So the one positive is we have won 2 out of 2 matches thereafter. However, we need to be far better v Huddersfield and Warrington.

Deacs has been injured in every game, he cant take the knocks. We cannot afford to repeat this week in week out without a suitable backline replacement on the bench.

The knock Deacon took today would have seen any player leave the field.
I agree though that he isn't up to 80 minutes week in week out at this stage of his career.
For me we would be better with him on the bench and Sam at 6. This would give us the option of bringing Mickey Mac off and putting Tommy at hooker if, as today, there is no variation at all in our game.
We were slow and predictable.

Not sure you can afford that luxury of Deacon on the bench with the young lads out wide. I think to a large degree the lack of cut out wide and missing winger center and your half going off is going to blunt you a bit plus we have no pig to mix it up. The other major thing is after such a big game and a loss at that will have for a month or so the Gleeson thing cant help either.

That was our worst display for a long time .
To be fair to hull they wanted it more than we did .
Our defence was poor and our attack wasn`t there , we kept giving flat balls instead of our dummy running type of attack .
We were lucky today , I`m not sure what the coaching staff were looking for in attack .
Marsh is not a centre he `s a winger , Charnley other than dropping the ball on his own ten yard line is a centre but played on the wing .
Joel Tomkins must have had a brain explosion after getting a penalty on their twenty , only to run in with his elbow .
It looked like we were back to the Noble days of what not knowing which team was going to turn up .
Like Offiah said on Sky sports news , wigan won ugly , lets hope it`s the last time we`ll see this , this season .
