The knock Deacon took today would have seen any player leave the field.
I agree though that he isn't up to 80 minutes week in week out at this stage of his career.
For me we would be better with him on the bench and Sam at 6. This would give us the option of bringing Mickey Mac off and putting Tommy at hooker if, as today, there is no variation at all in our game.
We were slow and predictable.
I thought very much the same today Shaun, Hull read some of our plays and cut them off from flowing.
Sam looked extremely predictable at full back today, returning the ball without his normal half breaks, running more sideways than forward at pace, although Hull FC defence was pretty good to be honest.
Last season we were very effective with Amos at full back, maybe we should look at this option again with Deacs taking all these knocks, although his tackle technique appeared to let him down this afternoon with his injury.

Quote from Agar:

"I'm quite happy that our blokes responded in the way they did because, if they are not going to get the right protection during the game, they're entitled to do that.

Quote from Madge:

"We didn't play at times to our capability but Hull came here ready to play. It's credit to our players that they managed to get themselves into a position to win the game.

"Sometimes the games are ugly and that was one of them today for us. It was great to see our players dig deep. Even when it came to 12 men, they worked extremely hard."

No Madge, You are a BRILLIANT coach, but next time, Let Wane do the press conference. I bet he wouldn't be quite so diplomatic.
For God's sake, defend your players.
We need Joel to plead not guilty at any RFL diciplinary, and have the appeal written before we go.
Stop being polite, because not everyone plays by the rules.
Hull were a disgrace and so was Ganson.
Hull did not come ready to play, Hull came to spoil, to use cheap thug tactics and to attack Sam Tomkins.

You're grasping at straws. We ****** Salford away last week. We didn't turn up today. Hope Madge is a bit less casual!

I think CP has a point.
Often in the Easter fixture build up, it's the fourth game after good Friday that form slips, not the one the week after Easter.

Not really KW. Sinfield said as much in an interview earlier this season and he has experienced it. The scoreline v Salford was very poor when you compare their result v Saints and this weekend.

Statistically, Our points against looks very impressive but our points for / attack has not yet hit the heights it is capable of. Deacs injuries, the absence of Pat (His importance to this team cannot be underestimated and his absence shows that) and new faces are all factors when combined with the WCC for poor attack. Somehow we need to address this issue ASAP.

I've always thought that Richard Agar is a tool - nothing I've heard since full time has changed that.

He is desperately average coach who's team should be well within the top 6 considering their roster; but who have only won once. If he is still in charge by the end of the Easter fixtures then he probably has warrington winger pictures of someone at hull!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

We certainly conceded a soft try re Westerman. The other try? Did he get that down? was he not well over the dead ball line?

The attack for me is not good. At the moment the team seems dependent on getting around the very edge of teams. The crash ball / short pass breaks are not apparent. losing Deacs probably does not help but I want to see Tommy bringing forwards onto short passes and if/when taking the line himself after using a dummy pass.

Charnley was a positive

Tommy didn't attack the line much himself today either. There was one point where there was a gap I thought he could have raced through but he passed instead. He was generally OK but he didn't impose himself on the game that is for sure.
Charnley was a positive
I think so. Looks at home in the side already.

yes it was a try, would have been a VR job for a televised game but would have been given was pretty much right in front of me. Even the players had no complaints.

Lockers was my man of the match :) fantastic passing for the two tries of Charnleys
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
