Phil Baily retires

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

Don't get me wrong CP, I am not saying he isn't injured. I do doubt Salford's willingness to get him fit and/or wait the necessary recuperation time for a player they originally had faith in enough to give a two year deal to.

This part:
Salford Reds are poised to swoop for an Australian back rower to replace Phil Bailey, whose contract has been terminated.
Gives rise to the suspicion that Salford wouldn't be too upset over signing someone else asap, hell, they might even have applied for the players work permit already.

Fully understand and agree BM

I think they may even have Gleeson in their plans. I do know that last season, people I respect were saying that Bails may never plays again, that he knew so himself etc but Salford seemed to go crazy and signed Bails and Anderson, both of who had huge injury shadows over them.

He was an excellent servent to the Wigan club never afraid to do the hard work whether in the second row or centre. Shame he has had to retire, perhaps at Wigan there were better players coming through but he was still a very good player. All the best to him.

Diamond geezer, sorry to hear about this and wish him all the very best. Always brought a smile to my face if there was a loose ball hanging around it was a knocking bet that Bails would be around to drop on it exactly like he did in that great 31 - 30 game at Bradford
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Bails was a good player. He always gave 100% when he was on and off the pitch. Sad news.
