Evan if the signing does demean the club, which I for one think it doesn't, but thats besides the point. Even if it does, we still stick by Wigan. I cant believe people are missing the point that we support the club and not the signings we make and results. Even if I dislike something thats gone on or a signing we make, I will stand by them and stay behind the club because I am a Wiganer.
and thats the truth :eusa2:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Ian Millward is arogant and has shown little respect but thats his job. He is a great man manager and is clearly a class coach. I hope he now shows the skints the same disrespect. Come on lets be avin you.

Only problem that we could have now is that Millward rarely got saints to beat us.

Hope the tide doesnt turn in their favour

My thoughts on Millward have been well-voiced on here and I certainly won't be joining in any "Ian Millward's Barmy Army" type chants. He's an arrogant cheat in my book who has brought bad publicity to the sport on more than a couple of occasions. If he tries putting out weakened Wigan teams as he did for the Stains then I'll be writing to the board asking for a refund on my match ticket. I hope it won't come to that, but with Millie you never know.

As for Farrer, I hope he's getting the boot. Can anyone tell me why we needed a defensive coach in the first place? We've consistently been in the top 3 defence-wise for the last few years, yet as soon as he's turned up we became utterly shambolic in tackling. He's added nothing to the team, and one thing Millward definitely can do positively is give him the boot, irrespective of the fact Farrer was Millie's boss earlier in his career.

Agree about Farrer, but disagree that Millie's arrogance is bad. In some jobs you need to be cocky, and have a confident swagger; and lets face it, he usually walks the walk, as well as talking it. And having already lost one job, with wanting to stay in england, I would say he's unlikey to try some of those old weakened team antics again. Unless he wants to be burned at the stake!!! :devi:

BIG decisions are still not being made at Wigan.
Gregory, Betts, Farrer and now Millward all being paid to coach 1st team football.

Stated in previous posts that if Betts is not coaching he should go. I only hope that now he is staying that his attitude towards Millward is positive and that the squad can respect the input he has.

I am not Millward's number one fan either, but it has to be said that we needed to do something radical as we are going to lose touch with the playoff spaces at this rate.
As for giving up your season ticket, well, I expect to see you down at Tesco mourning Central Park as well. We can't live in the past and if we walked out on the club each time they made a decision we don't agree with (looking back to when Raper left abruptly) then there'd be nobody watching!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont see what the problem is with the appointment of millward. I stated the other day that I wouldnt want Millward as coach, but as ive had time to think about it, it could be the best signing Wigan have made for a long time! He's always positive and passionate about the game, and im sure Doris wont let him mess about like he did at saints! As for being arrogant, I think confident is a better way to describe the man, and his results with Leigh and Saints explain why he's so confident!

To some extent, I agree with Fraggle and Ian - I don't like Millward as a person, and I'm not convinced of his qualities as a coach.

Now that he's here, though, I'm not going to turn into wnac (may he rest in pieces), and clamour for his sacking.

Wigan RL is bigger than any one person, whether coach, player or chairman, and I will always support them.

OK, the only time I'll be singing "Ian Millward's Barmy Army" is at Knowsley Hole, next month, but he's now entitled to our support, and he's going to get mine, whatever I think of think of him as a person.

It was obvious after Friday night that Betts was on borrowed time but the signing of a man who, whatever his record at St Helens has been, has shown Wigan no respect at all for the last 5 years is just what the headline says.
Getting rid of Robinson last year, and I would remind readers that it was done on the insistence of Farrell who then leaves the club, nearly provoked me into giving up the season ticket I have had for the last 23 years, this has.
I will not be appearing at Wigan again.

Here we go. What do you excpect him to do come and give us all a hug and a kiss when he was the Saints coach. He showed us as much respect as Gregory or anyother coach showed them.

Seems to me youd rather us get relegated then sign Millward.
