According to Bilko quote;

"Ben Cross makes Paul Prescott look like a lethal try scorer! He's never scored a try ever in 105 career appearances"

Adds strength in depth so can only be a good thing. Anyone who watched the Leeds/Catalans game will see just how poor a former champion side now looks. Ben Cross has worked with Madge before and has earned SOO honours in Australia. He is a very good player.

Exciting to think we will at some point this season have a pack made up from Stuart Fielden, Andy Coley, Ben Cross, Jeff Lima, Paul Prescott, Lee Mossop, Harrison Hansen, Ryan Hoffman, Sean O'loughlin, Liam Farrell, Chris Tuson and Gareth Hock.
You missed out Freddie who I believe is poised to return!

I reckon Cross will take to the pitch feeling he has a massive point to prove and I wish him well! :)

The same message sent to Joshy C and Darryl G when they went off the HKR and Salford. Keep training hard, show us what your worth and the callup will come. MM makes you work for your place. I'm all for it.

OK as made perfectly clear in the rumour mill I did not want this signing to happen, the fact of the matter is it has so now Im going to wipe the slate clean with Cross and give him a chance and see how he goes.

I hope he does well and regains the form that has been missing since he arrived in the UK!

Ben Cross joins Wigan and confirms 2012 Widnes deal

Australian prop Ben Cross has signed a short term deal for Wigan until the end of the season, and will then join Widnes for their 2012 campaign.

The 32-year-old is a former Grand Final winner with the Melbourne Storm and will join Vikings on a one-year deal once he finishes his stint at Wigan.

Widnes have also captured second-row forward Hep Cahill from Crusaders.

Cahill, 24, helped Melbourne win the World Club Challenge against Leeds in 2010 and has signed a three-year deal.

Widnes coach Denis Betts, who will lead the Vikings on their return to Super League after they were elected back in March, said he was delighted to capture the pair.

Cahill has scored two tries in 12 appearance for the Crusaders
"Ben will bring a massive appetite for work and an enormous amount of enthusiasm with him, in both a playing and mentoring capacity," said Betts.

"He's determined to play in Super League and his age dictates that he's motivated and ready to kick on for the duration of his one-year contract.

"Hep fits the bill entirely," Betts continued. "He comes with a great pedigree and has been well educated through his time at a really strong environment in Melbourne.

"He's already an outstanding young player with a tremendous appetite for work but there's still bags of unfulfilled potential in him.

"As pleased as we are to be welcoming him here, he's just as excited about joining a club that can put a platform in place to help him excel even further."

Michael is aware of his strengths so I am in the yes camp on this one.Just because he was in the whino's camp and was unable to impress does not make me a doubter. When all is said and done the whole whino's team have played utter shite this season. When you have a team around you that is clueless this cannot inspire anyone. :D
