Yes I took it to mean that Fielden is out for the season, we shall see, it will be a blow if he is.

That is the pragmatic and sensible view.

I don't know much about Cross but if he turns up and is no use, so what? Better than not trying to improve squad depth. May as well try and find out.

And lets face it while we might like to sign a centre there aren't any available.
Madge knows Cross so he must think he will help. Personally, I think Davies looks on his way out and there are genuine concerns about Fielden's fitness.
I have been very frustrated we have not had Fielden in the side this season. When Lima arrived I thought Fielden would have been really pleased to have some senior prop help, something he has not had since 2006 when he first signed. As it happens Lima has had to suffer thew same fate and though Prescott and Mossop are much improved I would love to see Fielden available so I hope you are wrong re the injury.

Hopefully I am wrong Dave RE Fielden as he seems to be in the squad for Friday. He has been breaking down though when he should have been in the team playing already. Too keen and pushes himself too hard, too soon. Hopefully sorted this time.

I think the one positive has been the time given to Mossop who IMO is getting better and better as a prop.

Hard game this Prop job. You have to be slightly mad to want to play prop IMO.

Has Andy Coley not been a 'Senior' Prop?

If Fielden is okay to play, why is he not having a run out with the 20's on Saturday to blow any cobwebs away?

Is it just because he is "Stuart Fielden", & it is deemed beneath him to play in the academy to see how he goes?

What if he takes to the field on Friday & has another breakdown, what then?

Every other player has played in the U20's after a long injury spell.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

I don't think it's benath him Josie and if we didn't have the wire match next week I think he would get a run in the 20's but with this in mind I think madge we have a much better idea if fielden is ready to play next week if he plays against wakey than in the 20's.

Could be wrong but that's my take on it

Yeah I understand that Adam, but he has only performed in training, he isn't match fit which could take his toll on him. I wouldn't want him to come through the Wakey game unscathed & then play against Wire, have a breakdown during the game & leave us with a man short off the bench & him badly injured again. That is my only worry.

I think part of the problem is that you are only allowed 3 Over 20's in an Academy match IIRC We have several players needing matches etc Too many?

I may be clutching at straws though lol

I think CP is right regarding age limit but Josie also I mean no disrespect to Wakefield here but isnt playing Wakefield this year like playing and U20's?? I think if it was a different opposition he wouldnt be included.

Also as said with the Wire around the corner Madge needs to give every available prop a run because 1 thing is for certain that game needs our 2 best fittest props starting and the next best 2 on the bench 1 2nd rower 1 hooker!

Also if I am being honest I am far more looking forward to OCarroll coming back than Stuey or Cross playing!
