He was our only signing last year. I said at the time it was inspirational and I was right.cockney wrote:prob said this before, but weve all got our heroes, sam, pat, josh, but when deacon came prob thought like everyone, past his best, just a bit player, wigan boy,a bit of coaching, does everybody realise how good he is? pure class
The current 'Half Backs' thread would dash your 'unsung hero' suggestion!
Re: unsang hero
I agree deacon does make us tick (very good yesterday) and was a very good signing. However i think the true unsung hero from yesterday and possibly the season has to be Coley. Week in week out he puts in an excellent shift and yesterday he was fantastic! Mr Coley.................Take a bow
Re: unsang hero
Paul Deacon is quite literally class and I agree has ben immense forus since signing. Another unsung hero yesterday was George, he was awesome. Lee Mossop is also turning in to a fantastic prop,so chuffed for him being a Cumbrian lad, used toplay on the same side as his brother Jason another immense talent.
Up The Mont!

Personally I thought that Finchy and the Hoffs understanding and plays yesterday were top class and the best so far this season.
Finchy's plays and distribution is now winning us games.

Tony. I'd hardly call George 'unsung'. He is becoming acknowledged as our best 'low key' overseas signing ever. And if he hadn't agreed to stay, the campaign to keep him would have reached a par with “Free the Weatherfield One!”!

Gorgeous George :inlo: :inlo:
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: unsang hero
Never thought I would say this but Hansen is my unsung hero. There was talk of him going to Salford last year and i would have been happy with that.
But this year he has been amazing. His work rate in defence and the hits he's been putting in.
Just goes to show what competition for places does. he knows if he playes poor then in comes Faz, Hock or Tuson.
Now i just need a new person to moan at each week.

Panchitta Marra, I don't know if we were watching the same game as each other, Wigan were coasting it but Finch's indiscipline nearly caused us to lose the game. He was the cause of the Warrington come back with laying on in the tackle deep in Warringtons half with no danger whatsoever, penalty taken, they were up field, then scored. we lost the upper hand, they scored again and again. What with some poor kicking and passing. I would say that was his worst match in a while. He only came good in the final quarter of the match. In my opinion of course!

Thats a fair comment Mick and I understand what you are saying.mickh wrote:Panchitta Marra, I don't know if we were watching the same game as each other, Wigan were coasting it but Finch's indiscipline nearly caused us to lose the game. My comment was mainly about the way Hoff fed of Finchy for some excellent runs, he made some good hard yards when they were needed.
To be honest I didnt see any real bad passes or kicks from Finch that stood out, but as you say theres no need for poor indiscipline.
