It must be true about Iestyn Harris, it's on the back page of the WEP!!!

Wigan has had two years under a head coach who has built a rapport between players & coaching staff that is working. His 2nd banana in that time was a bloke who not only endorsed that culture but thrived on it.
But some of you would rather throw that away & bring in another aussie,(with different ideas, coz only Bellamy & Bennett operate in a similar vein),because aussie is best ?
DO NOT screw up a chance to have a home grown talent make it to the top :conf:
Well said George :eusa2:

I suggested Harris the other week on the Trent Barret for assistant thread and got shot down big time!!!

I think it'll be a good appointment, certainly better than Scully.

We don't need an Aussie we've got Wane who has picked up the ethos from Madge.

The only Aussies i would want are Bennett, Bellamy or Madge himself.

Shot down you did, I have to agree with you though, I think he would be a good appointment and be very good for our youth.

Out of the two I would have Harris, even tho he is ex Warrington & ex Leeds :( The two clubs I hate more than Saints :exc:

Afraid that I am with God on this one. Harris has not been convincing as a manager, seems to sulk if he is not winning, both as a player and manager.Could not retain the respect of his players. Time will tell though and I very much hope that I can say we are wrong this time next year.
Hope that IL has a get-out clause if things are not going well mid-season.

IMO, Shaun Wane's man management skills are excellent, he takes no bull and tells it as it is.
Add this to Madge's training skills and tactical awareness make this a top pairing.
OK, some of this Madge magic will have been absorbed by Waney, but I think Harris is a poor second to what Waney already offers as our current assistant coach.

Can't say that I would be excited about Harris as assistant but whoever is chosen I can only assume will have the blessing of Shaun Wane and Ian Leneghan and if they are happy who am I to argue (don't answer that one thanks! :) ) we all looked at one another in disbelief when MM was appointed but, aside from him jumping ship far too soon, it wasn't a bad choice so I'll just wait and see.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I would prefer Scully to Harris. However, Saints have been talking to Sculthorpe ever since the rumour emerged.

However, I am happy to go with whomever as long as Wane gets the head coach job. I keep reading people questioning Wane's tactical know how etc / coaching ability. This is a man who played under the best for Wigan, coached reserves incredibly successfully, coached Wigan when Madge had to go home briefly to 100% wins and of course has worked under and with Madge for 2 years. Wane knows the game and is more than a passionate hard task master that some seem to want to paint him as.
