Team for Friday

Post by TonyH »

Should be

Amos
Charnley
Joel
Goulding
Marsh
Finch
Mellor
Prescott
Tommy
O'Carroll
Hoffman
Tuson if fit
Faz

Madge should recluse Sam send him away somewhere like the lakes for a few days and tell him not to even bother thinking about rugby for a couple days, he's had all the attention on him for weeks now leading up to the CC final and of course all this stuff after it, his head is a mess. Send him away for a break.

I don't think Madge'll make that many changes and we certainly can't afford to assume we're going to get a walkover against Crusaders, whose players will, in some cases, be playing their last-ever game of Super League and might have a point to prove.

Agreed that Sam could do with a break, though. The problem is that the lad lives for rugby and I can't imagine him being able to relax wherever he is when Wigan still have games to win.

Madge's call, though. I trust him.

Sam does need a break but the end of the season is near, to have a break from the limelight as for him to not be man of the moment would take around 4 weeks, I would rest him though just to give him a recharge, Amos is more than capable! and deserves a shot he could be a new threat for us going into the play offs.

I said on another post Sam does need a break he's looked jaded the last couple of matches and seems to have lost half a yard in pace.

The lad is too brave for his own good and he'll play if he can its up to maguire to protect him from himself

I see your reasoning, as above though, i doubt we'll see that many changes. Certainly not dropping both 1st and 2nd choice kickers putting Charnley in the deep end. I personally reckon we'll field full strength and use Cru as an opportunity to run set plays and practise training field exercises for the playoffs. Yes ST's been in the limelight, but he can handle it, and he eats sleeps and breaths Wigan. He's a tough kid, and he'll be fine. Plus i think a game back at the DW with a home crowd will do everyone's confidence a world of good after the (lets be honest) very average showing at Wembley, and the very poor showing yesterday.

I expect to see the same team as yesterday, with O'Carroll in place of the suspended Hock. Unless Mossopp is fit that is.

Love to see Roberts get a chance, but think he's more likely to let the ususal squad show the fans it was only a blip.

Last round of Albert Goldthorpe (League Express paper) voting this weekend & Sam only 1 point behind (Chase), for Player of the Season, with every chance of collecting valuable votes this weekend against Crus. Try telling him he's rested !

Mossy is being rested for the playoffs. According to his Dad at the weekend.
