Your constant gripes over the ref (whom ever they are) is silly and verging on the paranoid!
Perhaps so...watch the video again and tell me:-
(a) how long was Tickle in contact for his 2 "lying-on" penalties, compared to so many of their tackles? (not saying he shouldn't have been penalised, but it should be the same for both teams)
(b) did you count less than 6 high tackles (3 on Dallas, 2 on Sculthorpe, one on Hargreaves) that went unpunished?
(c) did Hodgson have a foot in touch when palming back that Moran penalty?
(d) Did Tickle touch the ball when penalised for offside?
(e) was Dallas held back by Stewart when going for that loose ball near their tryline?
It's swings and roundabouts GeoffN. What about the second half at Hull? We were given everything - was it something like a 7-0 penalty count to us second half?

True, and I've never complained about Klein being biased (incompetent, perhaps, although he does seem to be getting better). As I've said many times before, I can put up with incompetence, as long as as it's the same for both sides.
I do agree with Rob, in another thread, that we do need to provide more help for them..I realise it's a hard job! Sure, it would slow the game down, but I'd prefer correct decisions...I wouldn't like to go back to the days before video refs, and think they should not only be in all games (not just televised ones), but have wider powers. For example, a call from the video ref to the TJ about Hogdsons foot in touch wouldn't have slowed the game down significantly.
Incidentally, I'm not saying here that we would always benefit - I suspect we wouldn't be in the CC still, if a video ref had been at the UTC game, because Wild's try lookd distinctly dodgy)
I've suggested this before, but a similar system to the "coach's challenges" in the NFL, might be a good idea (limited, as they are, to 2 challenges per half).

Mrs C , Harrison was bemused when that try was scored because he thought Moran had knocked on before putting the kick in,if you look closely he may have a point. The ball can't touch the floor first unless it is a deliberate attempt at drop goal or drop out (the most blatant of knock ons).
He is also right about Sculthorpe whose raised elbow was as high as his own chin, very dangerous and he could face a ban.
He actually does just about get a foot to the ball, we've got that Skyplus and I paused it just at the right moment. If you want evidence I'll take a pic too! He was actually lucky to geta touch on it though, then again if he'd got a harder kick on it, it may have been too deep and therefore no try. Big toe control!

I don't think Millward can discipline a side properly. Saints do a lot of whinging and arguing when penalties are given against them and I noticed Tickle doing it on Monday. I hope this doesn't become a part of our game, if you're disciplined less penalties will be given but if one is, it's not likely to change, just get on with it.

One major achievement of Betts has been to reduce our "backchat" penalties to virtually zero. The last one I can remember was O'Loughlin's sin-binning by Ganson (BICBW). In fact, I think our overall "penalties conceded" has gone down dramatically - I seem to remember we were one of the worst sides last season. (but that might just be paranoia  ..all those refs picking on us...?)

Knew I'd forgotten something!

<gulp>

That's better! I think Ganson is the best ref in Superleague, always gives us the benefit of the doubt in any situation...Kirkpatrick is my hero, and Klein has never been known to make a mistake.

...these pills are wonderful! Probably illegal......but still wonderful.

Seem to remember Clarky saying that ,for a Wigan side, we were giving loads of pens away, the most in SL at one point.

I'm sure this wasn't last year!

Oh no now your praising the refs. Go to Jamaica and ask them can you have a puff of their special that might calm you down!
