OH MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!!
JESUS! OK we've started to slow down come the end of the season and we're not at our best but since Stains beat us it's like the world has ended.
1. The game's corrupt.
2. Gaz Hock is a distaster.
3. We have the slowest back line.
4. The attendance is awful.
5. Sam's below par.
6 The RFL are scared of us doing well??
This is just a snap shot of the 'Web Warriors' forum and since we lost to Saints it's like the world has fallen over.
WE'RE FINE!!!!!!! We're just not quite as good as last season and I'm sick of the pessimism. Anyone would have thought that we've real problems and we don't.
I would really like us to win everything this season but it's unlikely and we don't have a divine right.
My point is that since the defeat to Saints, there is a feeling like there's nothing else to play for and we're analysing every last detail like we have a right to be the best. Well we don't. Please can we embrace the last two years like they are the massive success they have been rather than being down right miserable about the fact that we've been below par for a few weeks. If we win nothing else we've been successful and the misery on this forum is starting to become boring.
WE ARE A GOOD TEAM WITH LOADS TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!! WE HAVE NO DIVINE RIGHT TO WIN ANYTHING AND WE SHOULD REJOICE IN THE SUCCESS WE'VE HAD RECENTLY!!!

Re: OH MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!!
Trouble is we have had a taste of success and want more. We have had a great two seasons, especially as you keep pointing out Kiwi, think where we were just a few years ago. If I had been offered a LLS and a GF win in year 1, and a 2nd place in the league and a CC win in the second year when Madge started, I would have bitten off the hand that offered it. I had a great time at OT last October as I was sat in the Saints end, (I've only missed a couple of trips to OT since it started). My ticket for Wembley was booked with my rhino mate in the Leeds end, so I was ever so slightly smug. I wouldn't have missed either experience for all the tea in China. However I still feel this season overall has not hit the heights (and I don't just mean at Wigan)and feel disappointed that the lads are jaded now for whatever reason. I saw frustration in their faces yesterday and really feel for them. I can't, at this moment, see us getting to OT this year, but I will continue to hope and will support the lads no matter what. When this season ends, whether it be after this weekend or after we win at OT, I will always be thankful to MM for all he's done. Then I will look forward to the announcements of who our coaching team will be, and any new signings or promotions from within, and begin to get excited for next year. This year will then be confined to history and no other team has even been to Wembley as many times as we have won there.

Re: OH MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!!
It makes me chuckle, Im in the weird position of not being a life long Wigan fan, or resident of the town but I feel its like a microcosm of the UK in general we love it when our heroes are doing the business and on top form but the slightest sign of a crack in the shiny veneer and our heroes are hammered and slated.I wasnt there on sunday(having forked out for my season ticket I was sadly unable to afford to fork out for the game) I was told there were the two Bert and Ernie characters who sit behind me slating Pat, saying his game is over hes never been any good, time to get rid!
I mean get a bloody grip MoS last year.He is human as are all the boys, yes the form has slipped a tad but its been a long and battering season.
We are a bloody great team, with fantastic supporters and as has been stated who would have thought we would be SL sheild holders, GF winners, CC winners in the small space of 2 years, realism is the key here.

Re: OH MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!!
At last some realism. Couldn't agree more with the first post. Its been a fantastic two seasons and we have elevated ourselves from nowhere to being one of the two best teams in SL in that time (and regained our position as the biggest club).
We have no divine right to win anything and the challenge now is to build on what has been started and get bigger and better. That's going to be a big job for whoever the coaches are as they will be starting from a position of high expectations.
The next stage in our evolution (imo) should be to start bringing some of our young kids through into the first team. This may cause a few initial wobbles but the fans will love it and really get behind them.
No doom and gloom. The future is bright, the future is WIGAN.

Re: OH MY GOD IT"S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!!
What people feel they have a right to is not to be short changed in the play offs. Not to be the best but for the team to play as they know it is capable of. Not seemingly to have decided the CC was enough and give up.Kiwiseddon wrote: My point is that since the defeat to Saints, there is a feeling like there's nothing else to play for and we're analysing every last detail like we have a right to be the best. I was waiting for the "...we don't have a divine right.." post to appear. No one thinks we have a divine right to win anything. I mean no one. And the fact we don't is not what people are unhappy about.WE ARE A GOOD TEAM WITH LOADS TO LOOK FORWARD TO!!!
