Moreover, I have watched legends of this club throw a game to oust a coach (RT Final v Cas / Dorahay)
So did I, that was about personality conflicts between the players/coach at that very successful time.

This is a petty squabble over extra money being aired with fans the real losers
No difference BM. In fact the RT/Dorahay era was far worse and reached a silly level BUT nobody lost out financially. Some egos were rattled and they threw a game for ego which is simply far worse. IL has created a bad mood in the Wigan playing camp by going back on his word to the players/staff. The mood permeates how well they play.

I defy any of you to honestly say that if your boss took away a large % of your income, lied to you; that you would then put your body 100% on the line for him and work at your optimum.
There IS a difference, do not try and confuse the issue.

The issue surrounding Dorahy was never about bonuses or wages but about Dorahy's ability to coach (in the players minds) full stop after John Monie's era.

As for getting paid, yes everyone would feel aggrieved if not being paid, and as such would have legal recourse to claim money from their employer for such contract failings. Bonuses are always "flexible", we have them at work, and the rules for obtaining them change with the wind

Surely this is something better sorted in a couple of weeks time when the season is finished? I see many people unemployed, but still wiling to pay what little they have to watch their "heroes" throw games in an attempt to force the owners hand in a dispute over bonuses
Nobody has said they are throwing games BM, what it has done is affected their mood, contentment and unhappy players are poorer players in comparison to happy players.

We are only talking 1/2 a yard, a step to close a defensive gap, stop offloads, a little more care over a pass. Small margins make a huge diference.

Upset the balance/harmony and those small margins become evident.
Not throwing games - Yet not putting the effort in sounds exactly like throwing games to me :doz:

:conf:

Just to clarify. Many of you seem to read too much and turn on the players far too hastily. The present team do not throw games (our legends did that in the Dorahay era one hypocritically (Edwards) )

The present squad are not happy because they have been let down by IL. If you promise the players something and then do not deliver it creates so many problems. These are the players who slogged their guts out in freezing sub zero training camps pre season, who put their bodies on the line for comparatively a very poor financial return. So every £ matters and when you are promised something and let down, then psychologically your unhappy state of mind can affect performance. In a do or die scenario like today the players put everything in BUT they have been let down badly.

I do think many fans have a rose tinted view of what goes on in reality. If they can most owners / clubs will 'shaft' players and beyond the pitch RL is a 'dirty' business led by a corrupt RFL.

the players are professional and get paid very well. i dont believe for one minute theyve been playing badly because of this "rumour". the ONLY bonus the players got was for reaching the final, not any of the games prior to this in the cc.

First it is not a rumour and people like you pee me off but hey that's life and NO all the players do not get paid very well, some far from it and it is relative given how brief their career is. Hence, why the players are peed off at being treated poorly.

To be honest, you can believe what you want, I am tired of conversing with numptys lol Have a good evening.

I for one understand what CP is saying and appreciate that the lads are not or have not been happy with the bonus situation and rightly so if they have been treated unfairly by IL, having said all that today's performance just confirms that the players are still fully focused on winning the GF for:-

1) Themselves
2) Each Other
3) MM/SW/MB/KR and all the other backroom staff.
4) The 'paying' fans.
5) Family/Friends

In that list I have not put IL obviously because if he has upset them then they won't want to win anything for him or if he hasn't then they probably wouldn't anyway.

People might disagree but I think the list of 5 above will put to bed any uncertainty about players not trying because of IL because if that was the case then they would be letting down the people in that list and I don't believe the Wigan squad as men and proud Wigan players would ever jeopardise that no matter what happens to them!
