Pear shape since 2nd half @ Wembley?

Business end of the season lost to the Wire (heavily)< the Saints twice (albeit the games were close - 1 try diff)

Most of the good free flowing play (over the whole game) not maintained since Wembley's 1st half....

Dragons had excellent chances to create a different score but for a few ref's decisions early doors..

One gets judged by results - all comes down to how many times one gets to Wembley or Old Trafford year in year out
Wigan should be there more OFTEN - end off!

He has a point. We peaked in the QF v Wire. Let's not kid ourselves we played well at Wembley, we didn't!

I'll settle for a top 4 place next season but I'm not holding my breath!

Kiwi, I'm really not bothered about losing tonight, I'm looking at the bigger picture and I'm not optimistic.

Madge's early departure announcement precipitated a very short term view to grab what we can out of this season, notably a CCF win to add to his CV.

IMO we are now behind Stains who have brought their young players through, albeit out of necessity. We could have done the same but Madge had an agenda that ended today!

Fair point. But I still reckon we'll be there or thereabouts next season.

Saints played better and deserved that game. Making scapegoats of refs etc just projects failure onto what you can't control. Phil Betham didn't make us knock on, or drop the ball or forward pass. In fact he must have missed at least 5 blatant forward passes.

To be fair, I don't think we've looked anywhere near last years clincial machine in terms of consistency for a long time, even with wins.

Form = (Fitness - fatigue) + injuries.

Coley has no knees. OL needs a op. Pat is having foot problems. GC needs wrapping in cotton wool. EOC isn't match fit (despite scoring a great try). Hock f**ked up and got banned. Roberts and Fielden and Goulding are long term injured. Gleeson was the consumate unprofessional and landed us in the sh*te. These things matter and add up to influence a squad performance.

In the past eight weeks we've played 2 more games than Saints. That 2% or 4% or whatever rest matters much more at the tail end of the season, because the players are bashed up. MM can say what he wants, but winning at Wembley costs you.

In the 2010 season we rotated through our squad with more stucture and it showed. This year we seem to have settled on a favoured 17 and I'm not sure it's managed the knocks the same.

Sorry - that's a theme in a separate thread.

Old Trafford & Wembley we should be there more often...END OFF!!

other Teams do it year in year out its a results business after all

As my granny said...one swallow doesn't make summer?.
Two trophies in how many years? Compare the weight of silver others have held...

Business end of the season - from Wembley's 2nd half onwards....please judge the results since...
