Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

UNCHANGED TEAM FOR ENGLAND

Post by josie andrews »

England coach Steve McNamara has named an unchanged team for Saturday's Gillette Four Nations match against Wales at Leigh Sports Village.

Half-back Rangi Chase, centre Jack Reed and loose forward Chris Heighington all keep their places after making their debuts in England's 32-18 win over France in Avignon last Friday.

"It is an opportunity for that group of players to rectify some of the errors we made in the game against France and bring in some consistency," said McNamara.

Team:

S Tomkins (Wigan); R Hall (Leeds), J Reed (Brisbane), K Yeaman (Hull), T Briscoe (Hull); K Sinfield (Leeds), R Chase (Castleford); J Graham (St Helens), J Roby (St Helens), J Peacock (Leeds, captain), G Ellis (Wests Tigers), B Westwood (Warrington), C Heighington (Wests Tigers).

Substitutes: G Widdop (Melbourne), A Morley (Warrington), J Jones-Buchanan (Leeds), J Wilkin (St Helens).

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'd agree with there Josie - although against Wales it probably won't matter too much.

Against NZ or Australia though ........ three prop rotation is suicide

Two out of those three props are 35 too. If we play the same team v NZ/Aussies then we will get squahed.

What is going on in Macnamaras head? One of the best number 6 s in the NRL last season is left on the bench(Widdop) yet Sinfield gets his position.

From McBanana's squad, I would like to see the following:
Widdop
Briscoe
Yeaman
Reed
Hall
Lomax
Chase
Peacock
Roby
Graham
Ellis
Westwood
Sinfield

Carvell
Morley
Heighington
Myler (promoted from Knights)

Also added to squad from Knights
Houghton
Welham
Harrison

With Sam, Micky Mac, Cudjoe and Bailey all dropped from the squad, (Sam, Micky Mac, Josh, Liam and Lee all out of Knights squad as well, so they can have a break, sort out injuries and get a good pre season in ready for next year).

Normally I wear my England/GB head and shirt this time of year, but as only Sam is included in his team and Micky in the squad, the above team can get pasted by the antipodeans without our help.

Westwood can cover as 4th prop in that 17 though.

But with Mossop going well for the Knights why not bring him through? And Carvell too?

And what happened with Prescott? Very good season and not included in any internationals? (injury situation maybe?)

same old england bulls'it.

sinfield could have his leg cut off and still get in the squad.

Saying westwood can cover here etc etc no!, Westwood is a second row play him there, carvell possibly one of the best props in the comp left out? why? Whellam (spelling?) been in great form all season but not in the squad?

I dont know what chase is doing there either to be honest, i honestly would rather of seen Gaskell while i know he comes up with the odd blunder he has the speed to trouble any line.

Burrow? where is he, has always caused problems for teams simply by his height!.

putting sinfield at 6 just because his position is taken by a better player is NOT the answer!!!. Widdop should be playing 6 end of!

Im suprised they not recalled wellens!
