The Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce the re-signing of centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall until the end of 2015.

Kenny-Dowall made his debut for the Roosters in 2007 and is today rated as one of the finest centres in the world.

Being only 23 years old the Sydney Roosters believe Kenny-Dowall’s contract extension ensures that the Roosters can nurture his talent and share in the best years of his career.

Kenny-Dowall has played 83 first grade games for the Roosters plus six international tests as a Kiwi.

“Today’s resigning reinforces the Roosters strategy to build on their young squad and ensure that the Club is a force today and in coming seasons,” said Roosters CEO Stephen Noyce

The re-signing caps off a great 12 months for Kenny-Dowall after last year being named world centre of the year at the International Rugby League Awards and New Zealand Rugby League’s player of the year. He was also the Roosters’ leading try scorer in 2008, 2009 and 2010

didn't get a contract because he ain't a center he's a forward and with all our forward stocks he had no chance.

I'm sure I saw him step into centre in one of the televised games or maybe it was the pre-season game. Wikipaedia reports him as a second rower/centre. I assumed that meant he has played there a few times.

He's a stop gap centre, much like Brown. Gelling home is in the forwards
