Sense at last, I agree that Carney is genuine class, 6 months ago the Aussie press were talking him up to be the best winger in the world after the Tri-Nations series, he has a run of bad injuries again and you lot decided hes past it, no good, makes to many errors, how about you give him more than time and games to get his match sharpness back, he seems to be free of his injury now and looking more and more confident each game, just give it a few more weeks and he will be firing again. As for the errors, thats just a bad split second decision, it happens to alot of players, it makes them human, not bad players over night.robjoenz posted:
Carney was everyones favourite player two seasons ago, then he had a broken ankle and played well in the tri-nations, he's been unlucky again this season with injuries and now everyone is saying we should get rid of him. It's funny how opinions change so quickly.
I'd personally like Carney to see out the remaining year of his contract. He's a great player he's just taking his time to come back to form. If he can manage to see out the rest of the season relatively injury free and has a decent pre-season we could have potentially one the best wingers in the world back.
Also most people were calling for Dallas to leave after he had 3 major injuries in his first 3 seasons, now look at him, the same goes for Carney, we was world class before, and he will be again once he gets some match fitness, my god you have short memories.
I for one hope he stays and signs a new deal, once we get Hock and Lockers back, and Fletcher comes in, and whatever other signings we make, the future looks good, and it will look even better with the best British winger in the game playing for us.
