CATALAN GAME
taken from website...
Wigan Warriors would like to inform all supporters who have been contacting the Club regarding the Catalans away fixture on the 9th June that we are still awaiting the final details of the venue and kick off time of this game.
The Dragons are looking at possible venues in the Catalan region for the game and as soon as a decision is made we will announce the details both here on the website and in the local media.
im not being funny but this amateurish from rfl and catalan to not have announced this already. its not like going hull or anywhere in this country. flights and hotels need to be booked to go this game for a cheaper price esp its in summertime.
ive never beeen catalan yet and was hoping go this year but with this being taken as joke im going wait till next year or if they decide to take it toulouse or barcalona.

From the horses mouth, it's in Montpellier on the 9th June.
It was apparently sorted a few weeks ago.
"Bonjour,
Le match du 9 juin contre Wigan aura lieu le samedi 9 Juin à Montpellier.
Bien cordialement,
Les Dragons Catalans"
Why someone from the admin team at Wigan couldn't get this info is a mystery. Thanks to A n L by the way, who said this all along.

Re: CATALAN GAME
well you don't know fully until you ask - you get rumour but if it's from the club it'd be good enough I'm sure... Just wait for official confirmation thoughbefore doing flights because you never know, something might come up.
Can still book hotels as many have free cancelation (upto 24 hours before check in) which is a bonus.

Re: CATALAN GAME
Do people know if it is just the Wigan game in France/Catalan that the venue has yet to be set or are there other matches in the 2012 season.
If it is just the Wigan game, then the froggies are relying on our good support to pull them out of the dooh when they play about with venue Monopoly to suit themselves.
I was hoping to make my first away trip to the French game this season, but wont now go there until they can give clubs plenty of notice of their intention.

Re: CATALAN GAME
or maybe the club have been waiting official confermation from the RFL and the people in France due to some discrepency over the availability of the proposed ground, jobo wrote:Wigan have been very slack with info about this fixture. they would not want fans to book hotels in one place then have to tell them that the game is not there, as yet again the club would be wrong there and accused of not giving a monkeys eh
Keep Wigan "Wigan"

I got this same info yesterday, but I said when the fixtures came out that it was in Montpelier!
Also read it in French Newspaper.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
