Appalling Stewards At Bradford
Appalling Stewards At Bradford
Appalling stewards at Bradford, a gent got seriously hurt today at the match and it took us over 5-6 minuets to get a steward to come over and then a he ran off to get St Johns ambulance lads over to help him. Absolutely shocking one steward was waving at another about 30m away with a radio he couldn't of walked over slow if he crawled.

Re: Appalling Stewards At Bradford
Thought there was a H&S concern as they had to physically lift the chair with the guy strapped in OVER the solid barrier!!! There wasn't any opening close to where the incident happened. Surely that cannot be right??
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

The chap that got hurt was trying to stop what was happening, and Josie your spot on they had no radios the stewards tried lifting the barrier out which is welded in place cant believe they don't know where the gates are, there are two barriers and you are correct they had to lift him over the bottom one as there's no gate on the bottom barrier.

Slightly different but relevant... I work with a girl who steward's at Bolton Wanderers matches, she basically has no training at all apart from just 'standing there' and when we talk it seems not much training if any was given...

On our way out of odsall we saw a steward refusing to let people with babies in pushchairs go up the ramp !!! The parents had to take the baby out of its pram an carry it up the steps while the other one carried the pushchair !!
Re: Appalling Stewards At Bradford
Seems to be the trend at Bradford - no one, including the players can be arsed anymore. Disgraceful.

Sounds like this is the sort of issue the new Players Union should take up with the RFL: ie the training and competence of Stewards particularly in first aid.

Cant see why the players union should get involved. This should be a rfl issueBriH wrote:Sounds like this is the sort of issue the new Players Union should take up with the RFL: ie the training and competence of Stewards particularly in first aid.

The other fans around seemed to have more idea of what needed doing than the stewards it looked like from a distance. Whatever happened, one bloke got taken away up the stands before the St Johns folk got there and tended to the injured person. Looked like a head injury so I hope its not too serious for the person involved, especially if they were trying to be peacemakers in whatever broke out at half time.
