I'm tempted to watch in my front room, as I'm still seething about this arrangement. Its nothing short of a disgrace and something Lenegan and even McMannus should seriously complain about.

Our title rivals this year after the first few rounds are Leeds, Warrington, Hudds and Catalans. and look at these fixtures.

Leeds v Bradford
Warrington v Widnes
Hudds v Salford
Catalans v London.

Widnes couldn't get near Salford at home so Wire will put a hundred past them. Terrible advert for the game, but great for wire's points difference. How can the RFL get away with pairing the league leaders with the new guys.

I agree first Try ,who we play should be drawn out like the cup draw .

At least they`re not playing 200 hundred miles away .

A fair way would be to use last seasons league table, 1st vs 14th, 2nd vs 13th etc.

Me? I'll whinge about it and then end up going for a 'team bonding' weekend with the lads. :D

Guess its all about gettin bums on seats etc. Looks like fixtures are based on local derbies. Just our luck our nearest & dearest aint as crap (sorry, not quite same standard) as their's.

My attitude at the moment is to be sat on the sofa in my front room, out of princible, I don't get why we have to have an extra round that is not a level playing field for all clubs and could affect the final league standings ie wire having an easy high scoring 2 points etc. I kind of accepted it at Edinburgh or Cardiff as an effort to promote the game away from the heartlands, plus it was a good excuse for a weekend away p**s up. I wont be paying hotel bills a few miles down the road and there is no reason for me to go on the Saturday.

All that said I love my rugby and especially Wigan so come the time I will probably be there both days and I wont risk missing seeing the Mighty Wigan annihilate the stains.

Totally agree with Southernpies' comments.
Repeating myself again.... but my first year watching rugby (& couldn't pick a better team/fan base).
Find out about Magic weekend - & I'm well looking forward to a weekend away and they move it nearer my doorstep.
Find out there's a world cup next year, terrific - looking forward to a fanastic RL drenched holiday in some sunny far off land. On ma doorstep again - ney luck!
So totally understand where you're coming from. As a newcomer myself I can see the sense in promoting the game thru the magic weekend when it's in Cardiff/Edinburgh. But seeing as it's here in the rugby leagues' stronghold, it surely loses some of it's 'magic' and isn't as much of a promotion.. no?
