Confidence Levels?
OK. 2nd in the league and already the best points difference so how confident are people feeling after the first 4 weeks? Quick recap:
Week 1. Disappointing - already discussed to death!
Week 2. Expecting a repeat of above. I think most people would have settled for a good 80 minute performance. Who'd have predicted what we got!
Week 3. You had to be confident but Bradford have a habit of saving their best performance for us. Remember last years CC! As it turned out, they were just bloody awful!
Week 4. Again, no need to worry but I was there last year and the memory lingered!
So for me, Sunday should give us a good indication of where we are, against a team who play to the death. As Stains found out to their cost!
Anyone else want to share their thoughts?

Re: Confidence Levels?
The thing with Catalans is that last year we still expected to beat them comfortably as they had had a poor start. This time they are unbeaten, and had a great win last week that everyone knows about.
It should be a great game on Sunday, people will expect a hard match and if we win it will be a good win. Pity there will be no away follwowing as i expect quite a few to turn up to watch a good hard match.
As for confidence, it must be on a high. After the first weeks disaster we are looking unbelievable. Yesterday was one of the best performances i've seen for a long time, and the way the players play and look they seem to be really enjoying thier selves. Everyone played thier part and you have to give a big up to the forwards as without thier dominance Sam wouldn't have half the room.

I'd say confidence levels are pretty high and this comes from Wane. Think he's handled the early setback extremely well and got the team to respond perfectly. Very impressed with the way he's brought the new players on, especially Hughes.
All in all, with the players we've got coming back into contention things are looking rosy.

Actually, I was querying how confident we, the fans are as we go into each game?
Re: Confidence Levels?
Like the players I take each game as it comes, I do believe that Catalans this Sunday will be our toughest test yet and that includes the Hudds/Leeds games we've already played.
However, we will probably spank them.

Re: Confidence Levels?
Going into the Leeds game I was confident we were going to get stuffed, but after what I've seen at Bradford and Cas, I'm confident of beating anyone.
We have bulked up so much and it hasn't affected our fitness. Stood near Mossopp yesterday and he is huge, as are the rest of the forwards, i can't see m,any teams bossing them. And with the backs we have behind them then things are starting to look good. Even Tommy had a blinder at scrum half and when he's happy he starts throwing the shoulder.
So confident....oh yes

Re: Confidence Levels?
Should have said I'm confident now despite what happens on Sunday, because of the way Shaun Wane and the players have reacted to the initial defeat etc etc.Kittwazzer wrote:Actually, I was querying how confident we, the fans are as we go into each game?
There'll probably be a few more hiccups along the way but we've got a structure as good if not better than most other sides.

Which IIRC was what happened in our home games against Wire and Cats last year, their packs bullied ours. Like you, I don't see our boys taking a backward step this season!First Try Tickle wrote: We have bulked up so much and it hasn't affected our fitness. On RedVee, one of their chief worries is their pack which they feel is now lightweight and vulnerable to being bossed. Can't wait for Good Friday to prove em right!

Re: Confidence Levels?
I'm very confident actually and really believe that we are certainly top two material at present.
What I'm most impressed with is that in the four games we've played, the right wing combo of Goulding and Charnley have scored us 9 tries and our defence is rock solid.
Our attack always seemed to be about Carmont and Richards and whilst with or without Hughes in the Centre, we are strong that side, it's the other side scoring the points. Couple that with Tomkins doing what he does best and we look scary in the backs.
I also think that Finch has never looked better for us. Watching the tries against Bratfut and Cas, he was the link so often and really looks to be the General we need mid field.
We've now scored 100 points in the last two games and conceded 20. That's awesome in anyone's books.
So I'm confident we can really go well this season. A lot better than I previously thought. We just need to knuckle down and be ruthless when we're ahead. Do that and we'll walk away with silverware this year.

Re: Confidence Levels?
The Catalan game worries me more than Saints.
Catalan had our number last year and beat us well. Hopefully being a little bigger in the forwards this season we can lay a bit of a platform and boss the game. If Scott Dureau an co get alot of ball in our half they will cause us problems a plenty.
Confidende levels must be high at the moment.
Everything Shaun Wane said in pre-season is happening before our eyes.
He said we would be bigger and faster - We are.
He said he would only play players on form - he has.
It's working a treat at the minute. Silverware...maybe.
