Exactly how would you have avoided this situtation? Obviously your solution takes into account all the contractual obligations of all the leagues and broadcasters involved. Make sure that we get an away draw? In all seriousness there is no way to avoid this situation but the RFL should be able to schedule SL games that don't clash with the Latics home fixtures. IFL needs to lobby the RFL about this issue if he hasn't already done so.Mike wrote:Exactly how would you have avoided this situtation? I'm all for fan loyalty but how is this the RFL or the broadcasters fault? The clubs have known these poss dates for months, Wigan are struggling to fulfill a fixture, it is the club and the landlord who are at fault, all the other teams can manage it, it is now a complete joke. If they can play it there great, if not they need to get a grip and get the venue announced so fans, yes fans of both teams can start to get themselves sorted out for the game!

The RFL are fully aware of possible fixture clashes, hence they take account of that when devising a SL fixture list.
The RFL recently renegotiated the CC Sponsorship BEING FULLY AWARE OF POSSIBLE FIXTURE CLASHES
So something is badly awry at the RFL
Mind you this is an organisation that gave away its premier competition naming rights for a few ghost HGVs instead of money.
How hard was it for the RFL to insert a clause that the BBC would be given priority over scheduling of televised CC ties UNLESS a fixture clashes with a Premier League fixture.

Why, do the RFL, when making these fixtures, have to have them played in the space of two weeks apart for rounds four, five & six then about six weeks to the semi then about another four or five weeks to the final.cpwigan wrote:Very simple;Shark Sam wrote:I'm all for fan loyalty but how is this the RFL or the broadcasters fault? And WHY, for God's sake, play one round on the final weekend of the Premier League??
