It's no use us getting emotional regarding Hock's ban and loss of appeal. As we already knew the outcome of the rfl's decision before it was even announced because any thing Wigan will be penalised regardless of the fact that LMS and John I'm a saint Wilkin are equally as guilty if not worse of offences contrary to the rfl's rules and regulations.I just wish that the Giants of rugby league would be more vociferous about the goings on within the rfl.But once again we stand by and accept this kangaroo court of bent officials without shouting from the roof tops. What would really hurt and anger the rfl more than anything would be if the wigan faithful withdrew loyal support when playing away and just kept our support of the team within the dw but as we are the best supporters this will never happen. The lack of funds from the best travelling supporters would do more damage to the rfl.Fortunately for them we always support our team and quite rightly so.

Oh Josie, I was tearing up reading that. Only needed Land Of Hope & Glory playing and I would have been

A very Churchillian speech. :D
I was in tears as well.... tho' mine were with laughing at it

Galaxy Quest - Never give up, never surrender
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Think Jon Wilkin is being lined up to take over at the RFL

IL has tried to steer a very diplomatic course with the RFL and I remember him saying he had every faith in the disciplinary system in 2010 I think. He has worked to try and distance Wigan from a reputation of a club that flouts the rules to one that is on-side with the RFL.

I can see the logic in that when subjective views play such an important part in franchise judgements and in things like disciplinary hearings.

The trouble is while IL has changed Wigan and done his best to fix any bad reputation it had from the Mo/DW era we are still getting shafted over things like this.

Hock's record is not good but it is no worse than a Morely or a Bailey and you can guarantee if they were ever actually sent off in a game for a punch then "sending off sufficient" would follow.

IL needs to draw the RFL's attention to the inconsistencies. I would have no problem him doing this in private but if he got no joy by doing that then a public row with the RFL should be on the cards. We have nothing to lose as we get the wrong end of the stick as it is and calling out the RFL publicly to justify themselves can't do any harm.

DaveO, this is something I've been going on about for a couple of years now.
I think it's high time that the Super League Chairman stood up against these self-appointed Dictators in Red Hall.
I remember Dave Whelan saying something like "Hell will freeze over before another RL International is played at the JJB". It had the desired effect.

Yes, right in the RFL's midden! They are based in Leeds aren't they? Red Hall? Sounds like it should be in the old USSR.

Not sure that would ever happen as I think some of them are far too close to the RFL as it is. Why would they rock the boat if their clubs benefit?

The only way the current RFL administrators will be called out is if they are so obviously incompetent it starts to get reported and perused in the press independently of the clubs. We need a scandal! Trouble with that is RL isn't that newsworthy.

Totally agree. It would appear that the RFL condone head butting but condemn punching. and before they use words like retaliation they should look up words like self defence

It was a disgrace that the Cockney Scouser, McCarthy-Scarsbrook was not cited and judged to have started the whole incident, but we have come to expect it from the Red Hall Lane anti Wigan mafia.

A friend of mine, who is only a recent convert to RL, could see that McCarthy-Scarbrook seemed intent to provoke Hocky, as if it had been instuctions to do it!

not surprised, the fact is he did wrong, whether he was goaded into it is irrelivent, he shouldn't be so stupid to be drawn into it, i mean it's not rocket science, he's numb, he has a short fuse, he should know by now that others will take the piss trying for the penalty, he should be happy ith what he got as he could have got more
