Maybe a 3 year deal is not proportionately worth as much as a 2 year deal.
So, maybe it's a 2 + additional year option.
Quite honestly, why would a guy his age want to head back to Aussie when he will be competing with 'young guns' when he can stay with Wigan and win everything?
(I hope he's reading this )

Like I have previously said I will be gutted if he leaves but if it is to return to Aus and the NRL I understand, if he leaves for another SL club then that is unforgiveable on IL's part.

He's said that himself
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
Is there any reason for him to sign for another Super League club?
He's part of a Wigan side who are not only playing the best rugby they have for years, they're also playing better than everyone else. As has been said, if he stays in this country it'll be with us. If he wants to go back home, then that's understandable too.
Hope he stays here for a good few years yet though. Got some trophies to win!
If he is greedy then there are probably better offers on the table than Wigan can (will) provide.
If he is a trophey hunter then he knows where he should stay.
C'mon Finchy, put us all at rest, you know the best is Wigan.[/b]
