Maguire after mossop aswell??

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Finch and Lima are both players that Maguire bought to the club to help out his previous club. Have no issue with them going but Mossop who has just signed a 5 year deal is another matter.

But as for Mossop IL should tell Russell Crowe to take a running jump and any attempt to unsettle Mossop will be delt with by the RFL and NRL.

As for Maguire he wanted to go early as well its time now for IL to make a statement of intent you sign a 5 year deal you stay for 5 or we want a deal in out favour.

For Mossop £200,000 and Sam Burgess. They want Mossop we have him any deal should be in our favour not theirs.

I'm going to be contentious here and say what others constantly bleated during the Joel farce. "Contracts mean nothing" (well as long as Wigan are not prepared to enforce them they are not)

We don't want unsettled players here and it is far better for his career for him to be proving himself in a competition 20 times better than a poor one with the likes of Wakefield in.

Let him go for free (ala Joel) and give him our best wishes. If Maguire would like any other players then I am sure IL would be more than wiling to proliferate such moves.

Maguire is fast becomming a pain in the backside. I can understand players finding the lure of the NRL and all that sunshine and good living very attractive but at the moment it just looks like he is only after Wigan players (Yes I know ours are the best!) but on yer bike Madge go and annoy some other fans
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Aussie players for us like finch and lima going there i can totally understand but for a player who only recently signed a new contract to go to south sydney would completely p*** me off, IL should tell mcguire to get on his bike there are plenty of players of mossops ilk in the nrl that being said i will never hate a man who if it wasnt for him we would still be trophyless

Where you upset when Joel got out of his five year deal?

Finch is out of contract so that is different. In my opinion the club left the door wide open to other offers instead of re-signing him up quick so we lost him but he has not done anything wrong.

Lima has because he has broken his contract. How he got here is irrelevant.

Joel broke his contract as well.

If Mossop wants to and does break his contract (and I have no reason to believe he does apart from this ere thread) that is wrong as well.

Joel, Lima and maybe Mossop will all have been allowed to break their contracts and if that happens they are all as bad as each other and the club will have been proved weak. The platitudes about not standing in players ways or not wanting to keep players who want a move can only be trotted out so often before the fans will rightly wonder if we can ever keep a decent player longer than a season or two into a deal.
But as for Mossop IL should tell Russell Crowe to take a running jump and any attempt to unsettle Mossop will be delt with by the RFL and NRL.
Should have done the same with Joel and Lima. Why not?

I had forgotten about Madge. He started the trend! Madge, Joel , Lima and possibly Mossop. All allowed to break contracts. Marvellous!

In my opinion the deals in our favour are the ones where we keep the player.

If there are equally as good or better players out there we can replace the contract-breakers with why is Madge or whoever knocking on our door and not just going after these players directly? So getting a load of cash to spend on God knows who, who won't be as good is not a deal in our favour. Never has been.

DaveO I signed a contract to join the army the contract was for 22 years, I served 5 which included a tour abroad for 6 months, I then asked to leave and broke my contract. My reason for leaving where personal ones and I wanted to come home and settle so I suppose that can be classed as home sickness. I also wanted to better my lifestyle so back to the point am I as bad as Madge, Lima, Joel etc etc?

I agree with you as i did on Joel been allowed to leave last year. IL has got to now say no unless we get the better of the deal. Either we get money and Sam Burgess which will allow us to buy Chase then Mossop stays.

We seem to have been easy targets for players to leave early and that needs to be stopped.
