I agree wholeheartedly. All clubs, but expecially Wigan, will hopefully tell the architects of this game, SLY TV, to stick it. The game is a farcical attempt to create spectacle and drama where none exist.
The irony is, if all clubs took that stance, England would still probably win!

Tommy has always been one of my favourite players and I was sad when I heard he was leaving at the end of the season. To now have maybe lost him before the end of the season, with all the important trophy winning games still to come, makes me feel sick inside. He is such an important player for us, particularly when the chips are down and some inspiration is needed. It would have been bad enough if it had happened in a Wigan game or even a New Zealand test match, but in such a useless, meaningless waste of space as that game beggars belief. Someone earlier said England need these games to give players international experience....RUBBISH, they are nothing more than money making non-entity games for our dearly loved RFL. For all our sakes Waney keep our players out of the next one, and tell Red Hall to sod off.
There, I feel a bit better now!!
I feel exactly the same. Tommy has always been one of my favourite players, even when he first came to Wigan. I am so very sorry for the lad & wish him all the very best.

please please please don't shoot me down for this! Devastated that Tommy is lost for the season and hope that we get the chance to give him the send off he deserves. However, life goes on and we can't turn back the clock. Does the club now deregister Tommy to allow us a potential mid season signing? I know it sounds harsh (hence the don't shoot me down) and I'm not sure if or how this affects his wages. If it means not paying him as a player, can we offer him a backroom position as a way of recognising the service he has given the club? Just a thought.

Didnt we de-register Brian Carney & Lockers over season ending injuries in the past?

Also feel very sorry for Tommy if it is the end of his great career at Wigan.

I'm not by any stretch a religious person, and they say prayer is the last refuge of a scoundrel, even so I too pray that this is true.
Tommy would be immense if he came back at that time.

Hope it was an eminent ankle surgeon that said it Josie :)
Hope also that if he is back by then that we just play him as a fond farewell and to wish him all the best simply because we have already got a great replacement already playing for us
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Time for the famous #25 shirt to make an appearance? It has served us well for the last 3 seasons! :D
