I've looked on saints site nowhere do they compare him to tompkins. in fact they were all on his back slating him.cumbria_warrior wrote:Kyle who? Exactly! Never looked to be in same class as Sam like all stains fans were saying, hope he comes no where near Wigan if returns to league
Kyle Eastmond

Re: Kyle Eastmond
He took the money and made his choice! Thought that he would walk straight into the England Union side like Ashton. From what I've heard he's been injured and never settled at Bath. Another year and it will be all but over for him.
If he does come back, I can't see it being for one of the current "big 4". He might go to somewhere like the Giants; but I'd be surprised if stains went near him. Wire have more than enough halves and so are unlikely to be interested (although they could easily fit him under the cap!)

Eastmond's light was fading long before he went to soft rugby
Changing the subject somewhat, but simalarly, Joel has only played 5 games at sarries all season and I think the expectation from everyone was that it was all going to amount to so much more.
The lad must be chomping at the bit while watching this season from the outside. If I was in his shoes I would be bitterly disappointed.

Especially now Faz has resigned as I am sure he played a big part in Joels move!!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

True, but Kyle's a quality rugby player. He has got the one major asset that frightens the opposition - pace. I would have a fit Eastmond in my team any day of the week.Kittwazzer wrote:Someone posted on RedVee that he has only managed 3 games for Bath all season and wants to return to League. Totally Agree. Just because he's been unlucky with injury and had a hard transition into Union doesn't take away from the fact that he is an absolutely briliant player. If ever it were on the cards that we could sign him, we'd be absolutely mad not to.

Re: Kyle Eastmond
People go on about his attitude at Saints. Don't forget, at Saints he was one of the best and only stand out players that they had.
At Wigan, he would be another excellent player, amongst a team with more than one or two World class players in it. Hence, he would probably lost the attitude (if it ever existed in the first place) and could concentrate on playing the game.
Personally, I think he'd be a superb acquisition and could compliment Matty Smith excellently.
