he got coaches choice as player of match in south stand :eh:MrsLam posted:It was a chance that was taken though, we couldn't keep Terry O he even said on GMR he wasn't happy with Wigan in the last year of playing for them so he wouldn't hve stayed anyway. SeuSeu looked like a good prospect before the season started, a lot of people on here were looking forward to see him in Cherry and White. How did anyone at the club know that this season was going to turn out like this? He played betteron Fri night, maybe this is the start of something good from him.JJposted:

[quoteand I include winning the CC - this season has been the worst since I started watching Wigan over 20 yrs ago.

Unfortunately(or fortunately depending on your state of mind)I've been watching them for over 40 years & believe me,we have had a lot worse teams than this one. These things go in cycles-every team has their golden periods, poor times & seasons of mediocrity.
We wii return in time-hopefully whilst I'm still around???

Terry O in a way as he decided he was leaving! Now if you had asked who decided Seuseu was better than Craig Smith...jinkin jimmy posted:

When we signed him he was not injured. He got injured after we had him signed and the medical report gave the all clear. How could Wigan not take him on if he had signed a contract and was medically passed fit?Was Davico fully checked out before we signed him?
No it wasn't. The intension was to have a back row including Farrell, probably in the second row with Lockers at 13. That would allow Hock and Tickle to be interchanged. Seemed like a good plan at the time to me!Was our plan to take on Leeds, Saints, etc with a second row of Hock (good potential but a lot of development needed), Tickle (average ability but looking good in our poor side until Friday) and Lockers, with backup chosen from Hansen, Wild, Allen or Beswick? The Hull side had Thackray and Carvell on the bench!!
It might be history but as you can see it did leave us with a realtively inexperienced back row and that was before the injuries kicked in. The decision to let Farrell go was THE own goal scored by the club this season. As for the Farrell fiasco, that is now history, as is the fact that we started the season seriously underprepared physically.
I thought they would cave in on Friday when Hull scored so easily early on but to their credit they tried for 80 mins so that was better then previously. You make your own luck, but I agree they must keep their heads up. They are extremely fragile - you can see them wilt as soon as a try is scored.
I agree. I don't think we will go from (say) 9th to top three contenders next year. Both Hock and Lockers will need to be 100% fit for that to happen for a start and after their injuries there is no guarentee they will make such good recoveries. We will exit the cup against Saints and will finish 6th-9th. We cannot dismantle the team totally due to contracts, so I don't expect anything better than 4th-7th next year either unless Basil can walk on water.
As you say we may also be unable to ship out and replace some players that are proving they aren't up to playing to a high enough standard in SL due to contracts.
